GREAT TIME!
投稿者: Erik Payne, 2017/04/15Our time at Tomikiku Ochaya was an incredible experience. The feeling for us was like magic. The geiko of the house, Tomitae is a very gifted person. The samples of her artistic abilities gave us a beautiful sense of the closed culture that is so highly refined in these hanamachis. We would also like to comment on the owner of this ochaya as being very polite and welcoming to its guests. She was also informative about the interesting history of her ochaya. It was also a bonus to us to meet the maiko of the ochaya, Tomitsuyu. We highly recommend this activity to anyone who is considering it.

Incredible transformation
投稿者: Fran, 2017/04/14This experience has been the highlight of my trip. The transformation was incredible, and every step of the way was carefully executed with the utmost precision. I was so impressed with how the studio dealt with a high number of clients and yet still made me feel well looked after. I was so delighted with the final results, I felt like a lifelong dream had come true. The staff's professionalism and kindness are stellar, and the make up, wig and dressing artists are incredibly talented. The photographer really knows how to bring out the best in you, and she was so lovely she offered to take some pictures of me with my camera during my free photo time since I was travelling solo. There even was a make up artist in the wash room to help me clean the make up on my shoulders - they truly thought of everything and cater to all circumstances. I did not feel uncomfortable for one second. Pricing was a very good deal thanks to booking through Veltra, I got 50% off which meant I could happily add on a photo book and some other extras. I would recommend the half wig, it looks much more natural and it's worth the extra money. I will truly cherish this as one of my most treasured memories from Japan. Transforming into a Maiko in Kyoto is a beautiful dream come true, and I will not hesitate to come back to studio Shiki again for a Geisha makeover next time.

Kimono Dress-up Experience With Hotel Returns Near Nijo Castle

投稿者: Yingka, 2017/04/12Our rental experience was amazing. The ladies of this cute little place were super helpful, spoke pretty great English and made us all look fantastic. The array of selection was amazing. One of our friends requested a last minute hair do and they were able to accommodate. They even supplied tote bags for our personal belongings to take with us and also arranged for pick up at our hotel after we were done wearing our kimonos. Sadly, the only disappointing part about the experience was the blossoms weren't out, but we still had so much fun. Thank you!

着物の質が良いです。
投稿者: ましゆり, 2017/04/12お花見に着物を着ようと言うことで、1週間程前から予約していました。予約当日は京都駅がとても混んでおり、予約時間を遅れてしまいそうだったので電話で連絡した所、とても快く応答して頂けました。やっとの事でお店に到着すると、意外に人が少なく、自由に着物を選ぶ事ができました。とても良かったです。ただ、最初に説明があまり無かったので少し不安でしたが、着付けも手早くして頂き、可愛い帯と巾着と使い捨ての靴下足袋、下駄も全てセットでこのお値段はお得だと思いました。ヘアセットだけはサイトに書いてあるように別料金でしたので自分でやりました。帰りは18:00と書いてあった気がしたのですが、預けた荷物は17:30に取りに帰ってくるように伝えられました。でも、着物で半日歩き回るのは思っていたよりもハードでしたので、丁度いい帰宅時間だったと思います。着物のお陰で、お花見がいつもの数倍楽しめました。また機会があれば利用したいと思います。

From the shirekin throwing to blow darts and sword fighting every moment was captured and will be a life long memory for us both. If you are in Kyoto and would like to experience a ninja class I highly recommend this dojo. Thank you to the ninja master and staff for the experience.
京都に旅行することが決まってから 何か日頃しないようなことを体験したいと思い インターネットで検索していたら 偶然見つけた忍者道場。
海外のお客さんにも大変人気があるようで 希望の時間がある方は 早めに予約をした方がいいと思います。忍者の服に着替えるため 黒いTシャツを着て来た方が良いですよ。
私は忍者フリークの彼と参加しましたが ジュニアさんも危なくない様に配慮してくれて、家族みんなで楽しい体験が出来ます。
先生をはじめ スタッフの方が とてもいい方ですよ。
また 参加したいです。

Best day of our entire trip!
投稿者: Meghan Wood, 2017/04/07Our customized tour with Fuji-san was amazing, as we had only one full day in Kyoto I was worried we wouldn't get to see everything. Not only did we do everything we had on our list, but he took special interest in showing us things for our young children (ages 3 and almost 6) that we hadn't considered doing, such as the Toei Movie studios lot. My son LOVES Power Rangers, it was the highlight of his trip, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the female heroine of the samurai show. He suggested a better order of doing things, so that we could see certain sights before they became too crowded. When we admired the view of Kyoto from the mountainside, he took us to a nearby temple with panoramic views of the city. He knew great spots for taking the best photos, and where to eat. He was kind and patient with our rambunctious children, and explained the history and meaning behind EVERYTHING, from the statues to the temple bells. In addition, the van we rented was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. I would definitely book with VELTRA again, and would give Fuji-san the highest rating possible for his knowledge, patience, sweet demeanor and excellent English. Thank you Fuji-san for an unforgettable day!

Downright Fantastic - convenience and quality in a nutshell
投稿者: Colin L, 2017/04/03Our group consisted four adults including two 6'3 250 lb guys. Our driver, Fuji, was an absolute pleasure; well spoken, well prepared, insightful and courteous. We were picked up in a Toyota Century - a $100,000 luxury sedan. As a car enthusiast this was a delight as it's something we don't get stateside and the only V12 made by Toyota (outside of Formula 1!). We were very comfortable in the car. I had written up a plan of sites to see, Fuji commented on each location and we pared it down to 6 chosen locations.
What we saw in our 6 hour tour was easily 2 days worth of content. We started the day at Kennin-ji to see the dragon and walk the grounds, then headed towards Arashiyama via Uzumasa (Fuji recommended). In Arashiyama we saw the Tenryu-ji temple then walked along the Bamboo Forest road, we split for the monkeys and an owl cafe. Then took in the Katsura River and the general beautiful scenery with some shopping and headed for Kinkaku-Ji by way of Ninna-ji. Then we went to Fuji's secret overview spot with a glass tea house. From there we walked the 1001 Buddha statues in Sanjusangendo where Fuji gave history lessons on the deities, the religious text/background and archery competition famous to the area. Finally we were dropped off in Gion to walk Shirakawa-Minami Dori and observe the geisha and folks in costume with the beautiful scenery.
Fuji's insightful comments to each site were well appreciated, his VIP treatment with drop off/pick up was a boon for our more handicap party members and the ability to adjust the tour (bathroom, food, etc.) was well worth the extra expense over a comparable tour bus. His suggested locations and activities gave us a behind the scenes look in Kyoto as well as the typical iconography in the area. We will happily use this service again in our next trip.
For a group of 3 or more individuals this type of tour makes good financial sense and the convenience over a tour bus or larger grouped setting is invaluable.

富菊さんを訪れるのは、時刻ぴったりがよいようです。
八坂神社門前の祇園会館さん（通常期は、よしもと祇園花月さんが営業）角からまもなくで、わかりやすい場所です。
刻限までの時間調整には、富菊さん斜向かいの「コロラド・コーヒー」さんもありますが、富菊さんの西ならび少し先にある「祇園喫茶 Rinken」さんを是非お薦めします。芸妓さん舞妓さんの夏の挨拶のときの名入りのうちわが飾られ、祇園東をこよなく愛しかつ愛されている喫茶店です。
「Rinken」さんのマスターからは、雑誌「地図で遊ぶ京都本」（京阪神エルマガジン社、2017年3月3日発行）を教えていただきました。富菊さんの舞妓さん富津愈（とみつゆ）さんの表紙画像と、「祇園の舞妓さんの一日」として富津愈さんの8頁にわたるカラー画像満載の特集掲載です。この特集には「祇園喫茶 Rinken」さん、富菊さんのこと、後述する気品にみちみちた、富菊さんの芸妓さん富多愛（とみたえ）さんの画像も、さらにVELTRAさんの本プランの紹介と予約サイトURLも掲載されています。
富菊さんでは玄関口で、「おかあさん」の気さくな応対を受け一気に緊張がほどけ、趣と風雅にみちた二階へと案内されました。
当日は芸妓さんの富多愛さんのお座敷でした。「おかあさん」から京の芸舞妓さんの歴史や五花街について、芸妓さんと舞妓さんとの相違、月ごとの花簪、富多愛さんの舞妓さん時代の写真アルバムから2016年5月の＜襟替え＞（舞妓さんから芸妓さんへ）の模様の写真アルバム等、まさしく貴重なお写真の数々を、「おかあさん」のいちからわかる名解説つきで、こちらの疑問にも快く教えてくださいました。芸舞妓さんのことをまったく初歩ながら、一通りはわかったような気になりました。
お菓子をいただき、いよいよ富多愛さんがあらわれお薄を点て始めます（画像参照）。気品と風格に満ちたその佇まいに圧倒され、息をのむばかりでした。もちろんお美しいことはたとえようもなく、堂々としたお姿それは厳しい芸事の修業の力でしょうか。祇園の芸妓さんの人間としての品格の高さに感動してしまい、カメラが机上に置いたままだったのを見かねた「おかあさん」が気づかってくれ、私のカメラで何枚も撮ってくださいました。
お薄をいただき、いちど富多愛さんはさがった後、一曲舞を舞われました。それは指の先まで細やかな想いをこめられた幾枚もの無限に連続した絵であり、芸術品。日本の伝統芸術・最高の文化が、京には動態保存されているのだと実感しました。
舞をおえた富多愛さんとしばし歓談となり、富多愛さんの高潔さにまだ圧倒されていた私ですが、話をすると富多愛さんはお名前どおり愛らしく気さくで、打ち解けた雰囲気で会話が弾んでいきました。
お座敷遊び「金比羅船々」をすることとなり、「おかあさん」と富多愛さんの説明と簡単な実演のあと、実際に富多愛さんと「金比羅船々」に。けっこう熱戦になりました。歌えないまま黙々と「はかま」に集中し、かつ負けた私ですが（富多愛さんはハンディで左手だったような）、前もって「金比羅船々」をそらで歌えるよう覚えていくことをお薦めします（「金毘羅船々」で検索すれば、歌詞・メロディのみならず、お座敷遊びの紹介動画もすぐ出てくるようです）。富多愛さんに「金比羅船々」で勝つのは、初心でなくとも至難のようです。 【この項4月2日に、訂正と追記あり】
富多愛さんとはふたたび歓談に興じましたが、ときは無情に話は尽きぬままおひらきとなりました。お座敷の金屏風前でと、下におりて富菊さんの玄関先とで、2人での写真を「おかあさん」が撮ってくださりました。宝物です。
小雨まじりの夜にもかかわらず、「おかあさん」も富多愛さんもずっと戸外で見送ってくださっていました。富多愛さん、「おかあさん」、当日はまことに有難うございます。VELTRAさん、感謝します。
富多愛さん、また会いに行きますね。

Fantastic pictures
投稿者: Amanda , 2017/03/21It was a dream come true to experience the full maiko experience and to walk out fully dressed (which was quite an exciting experience sitting for full makeup and then being dressed) to show off to my fiancé who was waiting for me dressed as a samurai. The photographers were kind, gentle, and encouraging. They were surprisingly fast and efficient which made me nervous at first but the pictures came out fantastic. Wonderful experience and I highly recommend!! Great place with everything you need.

Amazing experience!
投稿者: Kristi , 2017/03/16This experience was everything I thought and more! Four of us attended a tea ceremony that included delicious treats beforehand. Our Maiko was beautiful. I enjoyed every moment of her dance, how the tea was prepared, a fun game, conversation and a few photos afterwards. Our English translator was so friendly and made us feel comfortable. She took time to explain things, answer questions and take a group photo. This was one experience I was looking forward to the most coming to Gion, Kyoto. It was one of my favorite experiences from our trip and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a glimpse into Gion's rich history and tradition. Okini!!

不器用な私でしたが、丁寧に教えていただけますし、自分で和菓子が作れたことに感動しました。エプロン、持ち帰り用の箱等全て準備してあり、本当に手ぶらで行けます。一人参加でも気にすることなく楽しめました。

一気に名所を
投稿者: jｒｈ, 2017/03/13短時間で京都の名所を一気に押さえられるツアーです。下車なしで車窓からの見学なので、場所によってはチラっとしか見えませんが、二階建てバスならではの高い視点は新鮮でした。ガイドさんのアナウンスも分かりやすく面白いです。移動中は停車しませんが、支障のない範囲で減速してくれるので意外と写真も撮れました。希望者は毛布が使えて、小雨でもビニールレインコートも配布してくれるので助かります。桜の季節ならより楽しめると思いました。

とても良い体験ができました
投稿者: あゆみ, 2017/03/12道路の混雑で15分ほど遅れてしまったのですが嫌な顔されずとても優しく対応していただけました。
体験の場所もとても良い雰囲気で集中してローケツ染めをすることができました。
ローケツ染めの仕組みやアドバイスを丁寧に教えていただき、とても満足する仕上がりになりました。
修学旅行生や小学生からのお手紙や写真がいたるところに貼ってあり、お客様ひとりひとりを大切にしていらっしゃるのだと温かい気持ちになりました。
夕方からの体験だったので少し遅くなってしまったのですが終始丁寧に教えていただき、京都旅行の中でも本当に良い思い出となりました。
出来上がったバンダナ、大切に使っています。
是非体験してほしいです！

気軽にできて満足！
投稿者: Moririn, 2017/03/11神社仏閣の観光以外のことをしたいと思い、友禅染体験に参加してみました。今回はタンブラーに挑戦しましたが、思ったよりも簡単にできて楽しかったです。型紙がたくさんあり、選ぶのに時間がかかってしまいましたが、実際に染めるのは丁寧な説明もありあっという間に満足いくものができました。今度はもっと大きな作品にチャレンジしたいです！

金閣寺＋銀閣寺＋清水寺 半日バスツアー 京都の世界遺産3ヶ所めぐり＜京都駅発＞by おこしバス（京都定期観光バス）
とてもよかった
投稿者: jｒｈ, 2017/03/11三大名所を効率的に見ることができて、とても良かったです。前日に駅前の発券所でバウチャーを乗車券に換えることができ、時間に余裕をもって参加できました。メインの三大名所はもちろんですが、移動中に通る他の名所もガイドさんが案内してくれて良かったです。清水寺が工事中だったのが少し残念でしたが、それでも大勢の観光客が訪れていました。
引きかえた乗車券を見ると、他のコースとのセット割もされてあり、お得感もありました。
