歩きにくいだろうな草履。
そんな時に見つけた人力車。本当に予約してよかった。着付け後に連絡入れてお店に迎えに来てもらい早速竹林へ。人力車の高い位置から見る嵐山はすばらしい。友人4人で乗った。写真もとってもらえ、修学旅行で一番の思い出になった。ありがとうございました。

投稿者: Darivette, 2019/06/01The whole experience was amazing, the staff is super nice and professional, I went with my whole family and we all laughed and enjoyed the photo session, the selection of kimonos is beautiful, along side wigs and accessories, I highly recommend this place, they have also great products for when it’s time to take off the makeup, other places make you pay for unnecessary products, this company provides anything you need in order to perk up and take off :)

The instructor did pay special attention to every participant and made sure we learnt and understood. The staff was very polite. We also dressed in amazing costumes which gave us an authentic feel. We clicked lot of pics and got prints of our photos as a token from the staff. It's a must have experience when in Kyoto.

大変楽しめました
投稿者: hrs, 2019/05/24出張で何度も京都に訪れていて、寺社仏閣は一通り見ましたが、お座敷や舞妓さん、芸妓さんなどと接することには縁がなかったので、一度は体験したいと思い申し込みました。
時間は９０分と少し短いですが、料理とお酒が付き、気さくな舞妓さんでいろいろな質問にも答えてもらい、写真撮影も何回も応じてもらい、また、お茶屋などでは高額なことが、この料金で一通りの体験ができ、大変満足しています。
今回は、キャンセルがでたことと、季節柄、申込者が少ないことも重なり、５人の参加者でじっくり鑑賞できましたので、ラッキーでした。
また機会があれば申し込みたいと思います。

投稿者: ゆうこ, 2019/05/23建物の中は京都らしい佇まいで、風情があり良かったのですが、茶道の先生？お店の方はせっかくのお着物の着付けは乱れており、小学生の子供と参加させて頂きましたが、その子供が先生のことを横柄だったと口にするほどでした。
毎日繰り返しのことになり流れ作業のようになられているのかも知れませんが、こちらとしては期待を込めて参加しておりますので少し残念でした。
対応が不十分に感じられたようで、残念に思います。当日は海外のお客様とご相席だったかと思いますが、マンツーマンのレッスンでしたら、おひとりおひとり、対応ができます。ご質問がないかどうかなど、日本語でもお聞きしたと思いますが、態度が横柄と思われたのは、非常に残念です。また、弊店は、茶道体験教室ですので、初心者の方向けの教室です。茶道のご経験があられる方で、体験以上のものを求められる場合は、経験年数が長く、日本人の方のみを対象とした教室をお勧めいたします。
また、ホテルや旅館やお茶会のサービスではなく、教室ですので、お客様に「こうしてください」と申し上げることもございます。その点、ご理解いただきたく思います。
レッスンを受けるより、サービスだけという場合でしたら、料亭等でされています、お茶席に参加されることをお勧めいたします。
お店の方というご認識のようですが、弊店では、裏千家専任講師の資格のある者が対応しております。

投稿者: Tomonyan, 2019/05/21練り切りを３つ作らせてもらいました。１つはお抹茶と一緒にその場でいただき、残りの２つは持ち帰りました。説明がとても分かりやすく、不器用な私でも仕上げることができました。和菓子といっても、練り切りはお茶とかをやっていないとなかなかいただくことができず、私にとっては初めての経験でした。とても楽しいひとときでした。

This activity was more stencilling on a small wall hanging rather than the 'dyeing' we expected. There were many stencils to choose from and we were allowed plenty of time. Demonstrations were good & the explanations clear. This is a good family activity or for someone wanting to do some easy Japanese craftwork. Just be clear- it is using various applications of colour with a stiff brush over stencils that line up to create an overall picture on a small wall hanging.

Although we didn't speak much Japanese and our teacher didn't speak much English, with the help of picture cards and demonstrations, he showed us how to make the sweets and he did help us to do some of the trickier more detailed crafting. It was great fun, and it made a nice break away from the crowds in the centre of town. We got to eat one of the sweets we made, with some matcha tea and the others we took home with us. We would highly recommend this activity for all ages.

Although i feel better customer service can be provided, because the makeup remover and wearing of the interior clothes can be confusing. And most times left alone not knowing what is going on. For people interested in this, it is good to choose the package to paint your face, because the experience is completely different and it make your trip more worth it.
Another thing to take not, the removing of makeup process is pretty long. When the whole event is over, husband, man or friends waiting for woman to finish changing, please be patient, prepare for 45-60mins for the women to be done changing off

But kimono is very tight, wig is very heavy, and make up takes a long time, so you have to take a long time to remove it. However I think this transformation experience will be one of special memory for you in Kyoto.

投稿者: Rob Gordon, 2019/05/05The trip was with my Adult daughter From start to finish our driver and the experience was delightful - getting picked up in the Toyota Century was simply classic old school and made us feel Presidential. Our driver had the right blend of very respectful Japanese manners coupled with a delightful and cheeky sarcasm ( which suited us because it was how we are ).
He walked with us through each of the venues to make sure the experience was far more in depth than simply driving us to each site. The genuineness of the experience was very special and I will definitely be bringing my wife to Kyoto so I can take her on the same journey.
It's absolutely worth it on so many levels.

The instructor did not speak much English, but we were able to figure things out. Making the sweets was fairly straightforward, but the instructor helped out when necessary.
The sweets are delicious. A very unique and fun experience that I highly recommend.

投稿者: Stephanie , 2019/04/28The ladies that helped us get ready were so lovely and efficient. The photographer helps you pose and we went for a walk in a park and everyone came up to us and gave us beautiful comments on our look. Highly recommend!
I would definitely suggest doing the walking package where you can take your own photos as well.
And when we came back a little early, they took some more photos outside for us using our phones, so we could be in a group photo.

Wonderful Japanese experience!

A Gheisha (but they call theirself “Geiko”) danced for us and then made matcha tea for us (it was very good, and they also served us some Japanese sweets). After the tea, the geiko has talked with us about many things (where we came from, what we’ve visited in japan and so on). The whole cerimony lasts 40/50 minute.
I suggest to arrive a few minutes before, because the tea House is non so simple to find. I absolutely recommend this experience because it takes you into the real Japanese world, and you have the opportunity to talk to a real gheisha and know her lifestyle, her education, etc.

茶杓製作体験教室 自分だけのオリジナル茶杓を作りませんか＜横山竹材店＞
初めてのお茶杓
投稿者: よんり, 2019/04/22晒竹で申し込んでいましたが、材料を見るとシボ竹で作りたくなって、1000円の差額を支払っての変更に快く応じて頂きました。
小学生以来の工作にどぎまぎしましたが、修正していただきながら完成させることができました。帰ってから自作だけを眺めていると上出来じゃないかなと自画自賛（笑）嬉しかったです。
作っている途中でもう少し竹を選ぶべきだったなと気づき、完成イメージを自分なりに持っていくべきだったところが反省点です。
削り方のポイントを教えていただき、お茶杓の拝見時にどういうところを見るべきなのかが腑に落ちた点も収穫でした。

A big thanks to our friendly driver and tour guide Ichiro who made the extra effort to give us some history of the sights we visited throughout the day. Ichiro made sure we were able to visit what we had planned for the day, and he didn’t worry about the time too much when I was worried myself that our 8hour time was nearly over!
