Fall Foliage Tour from Tokyo to Watarase Gorge & Ashikaga Flower Park Light-up

Below average trip.

Reviewed by: Priyanka sodhi, 2019/12/08

It was a so so trip. Nothing much on foliage. Keikyu Train trip was useless.
Kasuki dam trip had nothing.
Only thing that was worth were Ashikaga flower park illumination.
Shimmeigu shrine was okay. Mizunuma onsen has very very little foliage.

Comments from activity operators

Hi Priyanka sodhi, thank you for spending time to write the review for us! I am so sorry this trip did not impress you the most during the supposedly best season. The weather might be not so good, and cold too when you took part in the tour. The autumn leaves are one of the most beautiful scenes all over Japan, and we hope there could be some other chance to see that in the future! Glad to know you liked the illumination, and may that a sweet memory of your trip. Thank you for joining us again!

Shuzenji Temple Autumn Maple Viewing and Izu Mt. Fuji Viewing from Tokyo

Fujisan & Koyo

Reviewed by: Ayumitin , 2019/12/02

I was travelling with a friend. This Hato bus tour was easy to book through the Veltra application. The meeting point was easy to find and accessible. Check-in was smooth, and we were greeted warmly by Ms Tomoko, our experienced and exceptional tour guide. The group left on time. Luckily, there were only a few of us who joined the tour on that day. Regardless, it was the overall experience of the place that made it remarkable. The bus route (Tomei expressway/ Shizuoka), by far, is the best one that I have taken to see Mt Fuji in all its magnificence. The included lunch was buffet style and had a variety of choices. The viewing deck on top of the ropeway was breathtaking. In addition to Mt Fuji, the momiji terrace was very pretty! Thereafter, we proceeded to the maple forest, which was covered by colorful trees of red and golden vibrance. For our last stop, we were brought for mikan picking. There was an abundance of oranges, all you can eat! A bag was available for purchase at an affordable price, so you can take home all oranges that can fit in it! During our ride back to Tokyo, we were surprised by an amazing view of the sunset on the horizon. Indeed, this was a worthwhile experience! I plan to bring my family next time on this tour

Private Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Arakura Sengen Shrine & Fuji Five Lakes

Oh Darn, It Rained

Reviewed by: Sara and Walt , 2019/12/01

We hoped to see Mt. Fuji, but, unfortunately, it rained the day of our booked tour and Mt. Fuji was not to be seen. But all was not lost. Our driver, Toshi, picked us up promptly at the scheduled time and drove us to the Mt. Fuji area. On the way he gave us information on local sites that we passed. Our guide, Yuko, was very knowledgeable and gave us options for our rainy day. Our driver and guide learned that we liked to hike so we went to a beautiful shrine at the base of Mt. Fuji and hiked on an ancient trail to the first station. A great way to experience Mt. Fuji on a rainy day. Yuko gave much information on local customs and the Shinto religion involving the mountain. We then had a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant. Following this, we chose to go to a museum featuring a world renowned textile artist who made kimono art. These were fabulous. It was then late in the day and we traveled back to Tokyo. A different experience than we hoped for due to the rain, but a memorable and enjoyable day thanks to Toshi and Yuko. We definitely recommend their services for guide and driver for the Mt. Fuji tour. They’re the best!

Shuzenji Temple Autumn Maple Viewing and Izu Mt. Fuji Viewing from Tokyo

Outstanding memorable autumn experience in Japan. Was really relaxing and refreshing tour with many memories to cherish with!!! Thanks to Veltra . . .

Reviewed by: Nideesh, 2019/11/28

Awesome! Pleasant! Near to nature and good yummy food! What else one can expect - It’s a perfect tour. Perfect mix of tour package for all age categories and family!
Booked the tour through Veltra and to my surprise the tour search and booking was way too easy and simple.
The tour started exactly on time, before the start our Guide (Ms Tomoko) introduced herself and made us very comfortable to start the tour.
During the complete tour our guide explained about each passing place – its history and stories which was very interesting and relating us to the tour.
During the long travel proper rest breaks were provided at regular intervals. Good enough time was provided for us in each rest places and the destinations or spots.
Destination 1: Buffet lunch: We reached at the buffet lunch on time at 12 noon. The restaurant ambiance was too good the food was equally good with so many varieties to choose from.
Destination 2: After food we took a cable car ride to - Izu Panorama garden Mount Fuji view. The ride was about 10 mins with soothing nature view. Beautiful sight scene with pleasant view of Mount Fuji San . . . Also, there was a hot onsen to sit beside and keep our legs in the warm water and have a wonderful sight-seen.
Destination 3: Maple tree forest – Perfect place to enjoy the Autumn with colorful sight of colorful maple trees all around you. The 30 mins walk through the beautiful colorful maple forest was like a dreamland.
Destination 4: Orange picking – Wonderful orange farm. Where we can pluck oranges and eat as many we want. Never had such a refreshing experience of having fresh fruits. We could take the fruits for mere charge of 500 yen per bag full of oranges.
Thanks to Veltra for arranging for such a memorable Autumn experience in Japan, would love to experience more tours through Veltra and would strongly recommend my friends to go for it.

For my wife and I, our Autumn / Fall Day Trip to Mt. Fuji and surrounding areas in November 2019 was definitely one of the major highlights of our stay in Tokyo and the rest of Japan. The whole experience, from start to finish, far exceeded our expectations.

From the meet and greet at the Tokyo starting point to our final drop off in downtown Tokyo in Shinjuku, we felt so welcomed by our amazing Tour Guide, Izumi, and our Bus Driver. The timing of the pick up, drop off and all activities in between was impeccable - we never felt rushed or pushed at any stage, with the time allocated for each activity being more than sufficient and extremely well thought out.

Besides the incredible sights and sounds that we experienced along the way, the insightful Japanese stories and anecdotes that our Tour Guide shared with us made the whole Trip that much more special and memorable!

We would most certainly suggest this Trip to our friends and family - well worth it in every respect!

Fuji Kawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Tour from Tokyo with Shosenkyo Ropeway Ride

One great day with Mt. Fuji

Reviewed by: VDB, 2019/11/13

It turned out to be a full beautiful day with Fuji-san.
The day started early and we got the first glimpse of Mt. Fuji very early on the highway.
The tour guide spoke very good English and was entertaining. Her positive attitude of being lucky in viewing Fuji-san came alive as we had the view throughout the route, at the ropeway and right in front of us at lake kawaguchi.
The maple corridor was not fully ready but the trees on the way had the yellow and the red leaves welcoming us. It was breathtaking.
The food (vegetarian) was Oishi and very well served.
But for a traffic jam on the highway ( which had nothing to do with the trip) all went wonderfully well. Even during the Jam, the guide (Kaori Hiramoto) kept briefing us of history of Tokyo and Japan, taught us Japanese and was very lively.

Highly recommended ....

Fantastic views of Mt Fujiyama

Reviewed by: Greg, 2019/11/12

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect Mt Fujiyama to look this good. Only 15 minutes into our bus trip and we saw Mt Fuji in the distance. Because it was a Sunday we had a slow bus trip but our guide kept us entertained with information and had a lovely sense of humour.
The Japanese lunch provided was very good and the cable car ride to a good viewing spot was fun.
The view from the Lake was superb with the autumn colours framing photos. Not one cloud covering the mountain. An interesting market was taking place with lots of food and craft stalls.
A slow bus trip back to Tokyo due to heavy traffic but all-in-all a great day.

Fujitastic!

We had a wonderful day out with our driver, Tuk and our local guide, Yuko. We saw a quick film of Fuji and the information centre then went to fifth station to visit the shrine and to admire a closer view of Mount Fuji and the surrounding areas. We then visited a local restaurant for delicious noodles and sake. We then continued to Arakurayama Sengen Park to take photos of Mount Fuji with the Pagoda and continued to enjoy the local markets and stalls and the Autumn Leaves Festival at Kawaguchiko. We were able to take phots of Mount Fuji from a variety of different locations and our day was well paced as we have young children (3, 6 and 11 years).
Our day was pleasant as our guide and driver were very knowledgeable, polite, friendly and accommodated our preferences. Highly recommend this tour if you like your own space and you’re travelling in a small group.

Perfect private tour of Mt. Fuji & Surrounding area

Reviewed by: MC from Canada, 2019/07/12

My family (3 adults, 2 children) had an incredible time during this tour which was individualized for us based on our requests and preferences. Our guide Takashi was extremely knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and taught us so much about not only Mt. Fuji but Japan and Japanese culture. Additionally, Takashi’s broad international knowledge and understanding provided an added perspective and important context on Japan’s place globally today. Our driver Toshi was also excellent and entertaining and because of his understanding of weather patterns on the mountain, we made 2 critical stops along the way that allowed us to see the peak despite some poor weather conditions overall. Takashi took us to an incredible restaurant for lunch, a meal that all of us enjoyed and none of us will forget. An incredible trip overall which was made even better by the connection we made with our guide Takashi. On a personal note, I left my phone in the vehicle and Takashi & Toshi ensured that it was returned to me the same evening! It was much appreciated! I would highly recommend this private tour and ask for Takashi!

Private Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Arakura Sengen Shrine & Fuji Five Lakes

A great trip to Mt. Fuji area

Reviewed by: Intan, 2019/06/11

My family and I took the private tour arranged by Tokyo Star Agency to the Mt. Fuji area, not to the Mt. Fuji itself, but rather to the surrounding areas such as Lake Saiko, Saiko Iyashino-Sato Nenba, Hanaterasu, Mt. Fuji Ropeway and also a visit to the local sake brewery, Ide Sake. Our tour guide, Mrs. Yuko Matsuka was an amazing lady and spoke good English. She lives in the Mt. Fuji area so she has extensive knowledge about this particular region. I really adored her. She also paid attention to my daughters' needs, I could tell that she's sincere and thoughtful. She took us for lunch at Maple Restaurant, the food was very good, enjoyed by my kids and also myself. It was one of the many great meals I've had during my trip in Japan.
Although what we hoped for was to see Mt. Fuji from a far unfortunately didn't come true due to the weather (it was covered with clouds), yet we weren't disappointed since Mrs. Yuko tried her best to entertain us and took us to alternative spots for us to enjoy the day. I also need to mention our driver, Mr. Kenichi Higashi, who was a good driver and also very friendly. He made sure that we're well informed about the traffic condition; also was keen to offer us to make stops at the rest station along the highway.
Overall, I do recommend everyone who's interested in taking a private tour to Mt. Fuji area, to choose the Tokyo Star Agency's service.

2019 Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival and Mt. Fuji Viewing Tour from Tokyo

Very good sakura tour with knowledgeable guide - enjoyable time indeed

Reviewed by: Gap, 2019/03/09

Our tour is operated by Hato Bus, which is reliable and famous in Tokyo. The meeting point is easy to find. The guide name is Karoi and we really appreciate her services and knowledge about the place we go and things about Japan. Her English is excellent. No problems in communicating at all. Our tour is combined with Chinese tour but that’s not a problem at all.

The places we go are really nice. We love the Izu panorama park but we wish they arrange more time at this place. We only had 1 hour and 20 minutes here which includes lunch time, and we had to allocate time carefully for this. We had quite a rush lunch but foods are ok.

We think the time for Kawazu is sufficient and we had a good time there. After Kawazu, it’s important that you have to be on appointed time for the train along Sagami bay. The seat is not reserved so you may have to stand on the train. All in all, we had a good time and the bus came back almost on time.

Mt. Fuji Sledding and Lake Sagami Winter Lights Tour

Definitely worth it! Just put on your warm clothing and comfy shoes and you’re in for a cool experience

Reviewed by: Mary, 2019/01/28

I would highly recommend the tour especially for a family. The whole tour was a delight all throughout, with the snow sledding at Snowtown Yeti being the highlight for us. It starts just at the right time of 9AM and ends at 730PM. We got to have a very lucky day being able to see Fujisan in its glory and unobstructed by the clouds on the way to Yeti. Though, there were already clouds to the side of Fujisan when we arrived in Yeti, we still got to see a glimpse of it. Sledding really brought the kid in us so we just enjoyed the snow together with the kids, not minding the cold at all. Actually we had to take off our thick jackets mid-way through playing. Waterproof gloves are a must.
The buffet lunch at Sylvan’s was perfect timing after spending a lot of energy in the snow, this type of nourishment was much appreciated! I liked how they have the plate with divider and helps the food organized too. Then there’s the yum ice cream as bonus. It was a satisfying lunch indeed. You can sample their beer too btw.
The ropeway at Kawaguchi squeezed us in the cable car but the view at the top was just overwhelming. You should really experience it yourself. Fujisan in all its glory. All angles are worth the photos.
Last stop was the Illumillion at Lake Sagami, can’t imagine the whole stretch of my sight was filled with colourful lights and images, so wonderful at night. By this time you would feel your legs and feet shouting for rest, so make sure you wear very warm but comfy footwear. Of course we got to mention our kind tour guide. Thanks Andy for your patience and stories during the tour. Till next!

Mt. Fuji Sledding and Lake Sagami Winter Lights Tour

Perfect for snow first-timer families!

Reviewed by: Oliver J Contreras, 2019/01/28

This tour was loaded with enough thrills for the family. Highly recommended!
Tour starts 9am, allowing us to still have brekkie. The Hamamatsutso bus terminal was a 5-minute walk from Daimon station, located behind WTC. Be sure you know the area, or have time to spare. As we’re sort of lost, good thing one of the HatoBus ticket ladies came looking for us, took us to straight to the ticket counters.
Our guide, Andy Sakata- was exemplary in his routine. From the bus terminal, he also included a rolling tour of Tokyo city.
Stop#1 The rest-stop in Ashigara is a destination in itself. It's a mall full of food, bread, groceries and premium item so we need at least an hour to ‘tour’ the place. Too little time.
Stop#2 11am arrival at Yeti Resort. The kids are wide-eyed with excitement as it’s the first time for us to experience snow It was a fantabulous experience. The kiddie sleds gave the kids the time of their lives. Throwing snowballs, ‘eating’ snow, having several runs up the short hill for the sledding. It was a blast!
Stop#3 Lunch was at Sylvan's. Buffet spread was simple yet comprehensive. Pizza was authentic, beer sampling superb.
Stop#4 The Lake Kawaguchi cable car ride was complementary to the Mt. Fuji experience. It gave the perfect view of the mountain from afar. Bring your snow jackets and gloves as it is just as cold as the snow resort too!
Stop#5 The last stop was Lake Sagami winter lights theme park. Imagine a LED-lit theme park, exhibit, carnival fun rides all-rolled into one. We’ve never seen anything like it before. Bring proper DSLR's here, as cellphone cameras wouldn't do as well.
730pm Up until our drop-off at Tokyo station Andy was helpful. He said that the viewdeck from the Kitte Building offers a good place to see Tokyo city at night. We went there and it didn't disappoint. It was a good place to cap the night.
A full day’s trip managed well, and we’re happy. Thank you Andy and Veltra!…

  • An organized way to have your buffet lunch;-)

  • View of Kawaguchi Lake from the cable car

  • Delight is in our eyes;-)

  • How do I push?

  • Majestic!

Bus arrived on time, Japennese style lunch was delicious, the crab legs were fresh tasty. First time to Japan for autumn foliage, the view at the corridor and waterfall were unbelievable. See my pictures.
The view of Mt Fuji from lake Kawaguchi was just typical
