Reviewed by: Mclovin Japan, 2018/11/11Sites visited were absolutely stunning. It is now a bucket list item to climb to the top of Mt. Fuji!! The tour guide was awesome and provided history, language and cultural lessons in a very clear and entertaining way. I cannot remember his name but our guide (bus 3 on 11/2/18) was outstanding.
The only complaint is that we were very rushed. We were only able to stay at Mt Fuji for about 30 minutes and ran through Owakandani. Understanding that it was peak fall traffic, perhaps the tour should start a few hours earlier?
Other than that aspect, we had a great time.

A nice trip out but more time on coach than sites
Reviewed by: SunSeeker8005, 2018/11/05A day day trip out from Tokyo to try and see more of the country but be warned - the time on the coach is considerable. I knew of course there would be around 2hrs to Mt Fuji but there is then over an hour to lunch, another hour to the next site and so on. We were a little unlucky with the weather but the submit was visible at station 4 - a shame to then have to stop at station 5 with no visibility
Guide was very sweet and tried hard. It was a good day out if you have time but I would not rush to book this trip again.

Overall, tour was excellent. Had a unique experience and i enjoyed it even though i'm solo traveller.

We went with our two kids 11 and 13.
Make sure you check the weather. It can’t be cloudy or you won’t see Mt Fuji. Take the bullet train to return to Tokyo.

Well organised tour with English guide made it easy to understand the things. The beautiful scenery of lake Ashi,Gondola ride, and marvellous Mt Fuji makes a wonderful combination. The return journey via Bullet Train was an icing on the cake.

Climate control in van needed to be more efficient.
Lunch stop location was excellent. Participants pay for own lunch, not included with tour price.
Tour stops were not the typical tourist stops, but more local attractions which were wonderful and not at all crowded.

Fantastic tour
Reviewed by: Sian, 2018/09/27This tour was really great!!! It's with the company Gray Line Tours and they take you to Fuji, Hakone sky gondola, Owakudani valley, and a cruise on lake Ashi. Our guide "Yoshi" was really funny, interesting, and informative. He told us just the perfect amount of information and made it memorable. He took care of us well on the bullet train too. There was enough time at all the destinations to enjoy. I recommend this trip to Mt Fuji and the surrounding area!

Didn’t get to see Mt Fuji

It’s not the tour guides fault, but was a bit disappointed we didn’t get to see Mt Fuji not get to take the sky ride. The tour guide and layout, however, were excellent! The tour guide was quite humorous and was able to take light off of the fact that we had bad weather. Was still worth the money.

The weather was not the best but we still had an amazing time. 5th Station was very misty, the shrine there was worth a look. Cable car up to Volcano crater was good, black eggs and a spot of shopping. The boat trip was good, we managed to see Mount Fuji for about 30 seconds and got a picture too.

Mother Nature Wins Out - Typhoon Fury
Reviewed by: Barry Kingsland, 2018/08/26Mother Nature defeated all attempts by the enthusiastic travel team to make it a great day. Unfortunately we caught the tails winds and rain from a typhoon that went through and there is no cancellation, just changes to routing schedule, they do warn you of this possibility. Every change of plan was thrawted with more wind and rain. Tour guide tried her hardest to make a go of it and was very knowledgeable and forthcoming with interesting information and felt a tad sorry for her and the driving team who were also very pleasant. Mother Nature won out on this one, just a shame there isn’t the ability to take a rain check as our US cousins would say, the weather ended up so bad it was hard to stand up and MT Fuji itself was closed. I imagine it is a great tour in any other circumstances.

A “must do”, “must visit” and “must go”
Reviewed by: Daniel Tan , 2018/08/21We were very fortunate that the summer weather was very good; skied were clear. From afar on the coach, we were able to see Mount Fuji in its elegance. A great guide (Joji) was passionate about the mountain, sharing her own experience when she did the ascent to the crater top. That made the emotional connection. The cable car ride was beautiful; it brought us to the sulphur “mine” that added to the volcanic heritage of Mount Fuji. The ride on the pirate ship in the lake was nice as a good conclusion to the excursion.

Beautiful, relaxing tour!
Reviewed by: Chel-C, 2018/07/19The bus tour allowed us to sit back, relax and take in the scenery. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the areas we visited and kept us on schedule. Ample time was given to peruse and shop at the different stops. Lunch was very yummy!
We are very happy we decided to take this tour.
A word of advice - if you are prone to motion sickness, please take precautions to minimize it or consider a different tour. The road up to and down Mt. Fuji has many switchbacks. Also, if you have trouble breathing take into consideration the thinner air due to the higher altitude while walking around at the Mt. Fuji stop.

Mt Fuji, Ropeway & Pirate Ship Cruise
Reviewed by: Toby, 2018/06/22Overall experience is great. Tour guide - Ms Kanako was patient and really trying her best to finish completing the venues on time. The time spent on Mount Fuji was really too short. My wife and I do not have enough time patronising all the shops and the photos were taken in a rush (at least 45to60min instead of just 25min). Should have taken out the ropeway since the cable cars are not so impressive. The pirate ships were nicely decorated and the views were amazing. Advice to future participants would be to take the bullet train back to your hotels. My wife and I got back to Tokyo in a breeze around 40min. Those opting to take bus back will need at least 2.5to3hrs since it’s the peak hours. The food at Mount Fuji restaurant was good as well. Do opt for the meals included.

We had a very good view of Mount Fuji and the lady that guided us was very professional and very well prepared, maintaining a pleasant atmosphere all the time. Unfortunately we've done this trip at the beginning of raining season (beginning of June) so Hakone area and Lake Ashi was immersed in a very thick fog (luckily the weather around Mount Fuji was very good and we had a clear view of the mountain). But again check very carefully the weather before booking the trip! The success of this trip will be defined by the weather conditions! The lunch wasn't very rich but overall OK (hot pot with rice). You can pack some sweets to have it with you.

No view of Mt. Fuji due to weather condition
Reviewed by: Karen Ann, 2018/05/29Yoshi-san is a very good tour guide and speaks english. We’re a bit unlucky to get a glimpse of Mt. Fuji from station 5. Yoshi-san allowed us to make a short stop at station 4 where we saw the tip of Mt. Fuji.
Got a better view or Mt. Fuji at the Gotemba area. Lunch is so-so although the Tempura is oishi! Cruise at Lake Ashi is breathtakingly beautiful (if you like scenic view). The cable car ride is a bit disppointing (we were diverted to a different cable car ride because the original ride from the itenerary had some technical issues). Again it was foggy from the top so there’s really nothing to see.
In general it was a 50-50 experience although it was nobody’s fault since you need to consider the weather condition before booking this tour!

Disappointing!
Reviewed by: Mary C., 2018/05/19The weather is no one's fault and staff did their best, but the dense fog made seeing anything impossible. We toured area around Mt. Fugi in the fog. The fifth viewing station was closed. We were warned in reservation materials that we might not see the mountain but we didn't expect to be fogged out of every other attraction ( boat ride, lift ) as well. We did see some interesting countryside and a few villages. We also saw a bit of Tokyo as we circled around to pick up other participants at their hotels. We took the bus back, not the train. Train people beat us back to our hotel by about 30 minutes.
