First, receive a detailed explanation about the harvesting process from the knowledgeable staff at Gakiya Farm, one of the leading sugarcane farms in Nago City. Learn about the use of tools and methods for harvesting.
Sugarcane Harvesting Experience Begins!
First, watch a demonstration by a local farmer. Then, try your hand at harvesting sugarcane yourself! There are plenty of unique experiences, such as removing leaves and branches from the sugarcane, and uprooting it vigorously from the base.
~Tasting the Sugarcane~
After neatly removing the leaves from the harvested sugarcane, peel off a bit of the skin and take a bite! Sweet sugarcane juice will come out.
Making Fresh Sugarcane Juice
Witness the process of turning harvested sugarcane into fresh juice using a squeezing machine. Enjoy a tasting of the freshly made sugarcane juice.

- This tour is conducted in Japanese only; however, for non-Japanese speakers, staff will assist using translation devices. Additionally, arrangements for Chinese or English-speaking guides can be made upon request. Please select this option if desired.

- In case of rain, an alternative indoor activity will be arranged instead of field work.
- Please note that reservations may not be accepted during traditional Obon and Chinese New Year holidays.
