Check-in at Nishijin Tondaya
Experience the authenticity of Japanese culture as you enter the narrow entrance and make your way through the quaint garden. Following the Japanese tradition, please remove your shoes upon entering.
Once you have made yourself comfortable, get helpful assistance from the friendly staff who will dress you up in a lovely kimono.
Explore the lovely machiya as you wander through the six gardens. Take this wonderful opportunity to experience the historical and traditional Japanese lifestyle. While strolling, take some photos in the garden with your beautiful kimono.
Before the ceremony, learn a little about the traditions of tea in the annex that is also used as a noh theater. Find out about the mannerisms and meanings to further enjoy your tea.
Take part in an authentic tea ceremony with an expert tea master who will show you the proper ways to enjoy and appreciate the tea. Relax in the spacious room with comfortable seating available on chairs.
Savor a delicious Japanese-style bento box meal using local ingredients from Kyoto. Try wonderful flavors of Japan using recipes that have been passed down for a century!
