Angel Road, Olive Park, Kankakei Gorge, Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village, Nakayama Senmaida, Yamaroku Soy Sauce, Shodoshima Sake Brewery. In 5 hours, you'll be guided to a total of seven locations, including the four classic sightseeing spots in Shodoshima and three additional popular spots!
[Introduction to Tourist Spots]
"Angel Road," which appears only at low tide, is a popular spot known as a power spot. Visitors can write wishes on shell-shaped ema plaques, try love fortunes, and, depending on the time of day, capture a beautiful photo with the sunset.
On a hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, the park boasts around 2,000 olive trees and offers stunning views. You can also purchase a variety of products made with olives, making it a perfect spot for souvenirs.
The gorge is located between the highest peak on the island, Mount Hoshigajo, and Shihozashi. The breathtaking views of the changing seasons can be seen in all directions from the ropeway, which is truly spectacular!
Along the coast of the Seto Inland Sea, the open set where the movie "Twenty-Four Eyes" was filmed still remains. You can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere as you explore the village streets from the Taisho and early Showa periods, the Cape Branch School, and the Shochikuza Movie Theater.
Nakayama Senmaida, with its more than 800 terraced rice fields of various sizes, offers a stunning view. The rural landscape changes with the seasons, displaying lush green carpets in the summer and golden rice ears shining in early autumn.
When it comes to Shodoshima, soy sauce is considered one of the 3 major specialties, alongside olive oil and somen noodles. Yamaroku Soy Sauce is a long-established shop with fans nationwide. Their exquisite soy sauce, crafted over a history of about 150 years, is highly recommended as a souvenir.
At "MORIKUNI," the only sake brewery in Shodoshima, they produce sake using the island's delicious water and rice, while valuing tradition. They are dedicated to Shodoshima's local sake and also produce sake using "Ooseto," a sake rice from Kagawa, cultivated in Nakayama Senmaida.
