Once in a lifetime

He serve crispy krispy cream donuts and tea. Shared his knowledge and showed us Jupiter, the craters of the moon and constellations. The drive up did not take very long. It was freezing during the night so put on layers. Watching the sunset was beautiful.

A Must Do!

We had the chance to stop and change into warmer clothes before going to the summit. Highly recommend this tour!

最高の体験出来ました
投稿者: T.K, 2022/08/07富士山クラスの山でしたが、トイレ休憩含め、高度に少しずつ慣らしながら連れて行ってくれたので何の問題もなく山頂まで到着。
雲が厚く、心配しましたがサンセット時にはだいぶ晴れ、幻想的な夕陽を見ることが出来ました。
そして真っ暗になってからはポインターで空を指しながらの解説で正に天然のプラネタリウムでした。
高級な望遠鏡も用意頂き、土星の輪っかや月のクレーターなどもはっきり見ることが出来ました。

投稿者: Anirudh, 2022/07/15We had a great time in the sunset and stargazing tour. The tour operator Yamauchi-San was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. He promptly picked us up at the scheduled time. He was very engaging with the whole group and provided us with donuts and water at the start of the trip. He ensured that the group got gradually acclimated to the altitude by stopping at couple of places on the way. Once we reached the summit he took us to a place that had a very clear view of the setting sun. Then during the stargazing part of the tour he showed us several stars and star clusters through the telescope and binoculars. Also since it was a full moon we also got a good view of the moon and it’s craters through the telescope. Overall we enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to others.

Best experience ever!

We saw the best sunset and so many stars. Yoshi showed us all the different stars and the milky way on the telescope. He also took plenty of pictures of us and let me just say he is an amazing photographer. Would love to go again.

He is very knowledgeable and explained a lot about stars to us using laser & telescope. He gave us donut, tea, blanket, gloves, jacket, and candy. It was amazing!!! He is very kind and friendly. I definitely recommended him to everyone.

Amazing stargazing trip!
投稿者: Roxanne, 2022/06/10This tour is absolutely worth it! Yoshi is tour owner and tour guide with over 20 yrs experience! His tour is perfect for those who don’t want to drive up for their first time in the dark and windy road (like the other tour). Everything was provided as described- and the arctic jackets were a must have because it was freezing and windy! Loved the hot tea provided too! Yoshi is super knowledgeable about the stars and with his telescopes we were able to see the beautiful stars. Oh and the sunset was absolutely terrific too! Definitely worth taking this tour!

A MUST-DO ACTIVITY!

投稿者: Sam, 2021/10/04We were fortunate enough to have had a new moon and clear sky up on Haleakalā back in September. We had breathtaking views of Milky Way, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, the Andromeda galaxy, and much more thanks to our amazing guide, Yoshi! Yoshi brought us a box of donuts and served us hot tea throughout the night. We were a bit fearful of driving down from the summit in the dark, but Yoshi led the way and made us feel very safe. This was easily one of our most memorable experiences during our visit to Maui and highly recommend it!

投稿者: Lindsay , 2021/09/27Really memorable experience! Driver/guide was very accommodating, polite, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor! Word of advice for attendees- bring motion sickness medicine and take in advance! Very winding road going up and coming down, elevation makes it worse and people who typically do not get motion sick got motion sick! Tour guide had ginger chews, and barf bags, which helped, but wish I had remembered my Dramamine! The summit was absolutely breathtaking and we stopped at every cool place to take pictures! They had us stop at a perfect little shop to buy snacks and souvenirs and it was by far my favorite shop from the whole trip! Lots of Hawaii home grown products! Would recommend this tour 100%!

Absolutely amazing!
投稿者: Jenny, 2021/09/20This was one of the highlights of our trip to Maui! First you get to drive up 10k feet up Haleakala and view amazing landscapes, be above the clouds and then watch the sunset. Guide, Yoshi (not sure if spelling correctly) was amazing! Has been doing this tour for 20 years. Very laid back, knowledgeable, and offers up various spots for photos. He has very good equipment for star gazing. He sets everything up, provides winter jackets and even coffee and tea. We got to see Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Andromeda galaxy and much more. Would recommend to anyone! We spent about 1 hour of the tour star gazing and other tours were already gone while we were still up there. Absolutely amazing!

感動しました！
投稿者: ALOHA , 2021/09/128月に家族4人で参加しました。コロナ禍という事もあり、他の参加者はおらず私達だけでした。予定していた日の天候が崩れると連絡を頂き、急きょ到着翌日へ変更となりました。おかげ様で美しいサンセットを見ることができました。
その後の星空観測では、ヤマピーさんの説明を聞きながら月の表面を見たりとても楽しかったです。満月が近く、月が明るすぎてあまりハッキリと星が見えなかったのが少し残念でしたが、月のパワーをもらえました！
マウイ島での最高の思い出になりました!

Wonderful day on Haleakala

We thought Haleakala was off the table because we could not find a sunrise tour. Fortunately I kept looking and found this sunset tour. Even better, didn’t have to wake up before 2 AM. Bonus. Kama our tour guide was wonderful and had lots of great information about the mountain and it’s rare plant life as well as tips for the rest of our trip. He treated us like we were family. I would highly recommend this tour.

投稿者: Tirupati, 2021/08/07Most people do the sunrise, but I would have to argue the sunset tour lives up close to the the sunrise. The stargazing was amazingly clear on our tour! The guides know what to present and really give some awesome detail of the history of Haleakala. We had a 5 year old and she loved the experience of being so close to the night sky above. I would recommend dressing warm, for you may get hot when the sun is setting but won't regret it at night, it definitely gets cold up there!
Also, BRING FOOD. They are not lieing, it is a long night ahead of you and you will be definitely sad if you get hungry because not much is open once the tour is done.

40年ぶりの天の川

2遠鏡、仰向けで見るためのチェアー、防寒具、星空の解説等、星を見るための環境を微に入り細に入り整えてあり、快適に星を鑑賞することができました。
季節を変えて、違う星を見るため再訪したいと思います。

最高！感動ものです。

機会があるなら迷わず行ってください！と言いたいです。
高山病にならないように徐々に慣らしながら連れて行ってもらえる上、途中でスーパーやお土産屋さんに立ち寄ってオススメを教えてくれます♡
雲の上のサンセットなんて、そうそう見れるものではなく、静寂に包まれてゆっくりとした時間が流れ、日常を忘れさせてくれるほど感動しました。
その後は満点の星空。
クッキリと星座が見れ、無数の星が空いっぱいに広がります。ラッキーなことに流れ星も見えましたよ。
残念ながら携帯では撮れなかったですが、見上げたときの驚きは忘れられないです。
写真を撮りたい方はカメラ持参をお勧めします。
そして何より、ガイドの山Pの細やかな気遣いと面白く勉強になるトーク！これもまたこのツアーの醍醐味ですよ！
知らない方ばかりですが、みーんな仲良くなれます。温かい気持ちでツアーを終えました。
何度でも行きたいです。
ツァー参加して頂き有難うございました。最初にオリエンテーリング兼コーヒードーナッツ休憩、(ツァーに含まれています) がありまして。ツァー参加の皆さんとの交流があります。少しのドーナッツでも食べておくと高山病予防になります。そのあとは夜の寿司弁当の買い物にスーパーに立ち寄りますので、忘れていたお買い物も色々ご紹介していきますので、それぞれが現地ハワイの地元価格でお勧めするお買い物もできます。あとの工程は是非ツァーに参加してくださいませ。笑 またゆっくりマウイに遊びに来てくださいね。お待ちしております。

絶景でした！

標高3000m以上登るので高山病予防のため、途中休憩を挟み山頂まで上がりましたが、休憩が絶妙で、全く大丈夫でした。雲の上に上がると降っていた雨もあがり(雲の上だから当然？)視界全てが絶景で、撮影している間に夕陽が落ちてきました。太陽が沈む瞬間は何とも言えない気持ちでした。夕陽を見た後は説明付きの星空鑑賞。やまぴーさんの説明は早口でたまに聞き取れなかったけど話に聞き入ってしまいました。星空の事だけでなく、世界の事、地球のこれから、危険な事は起きていくだろうという話は現実的で身が引き締まる思いになりました。ご自身の体験談、親御さんの事など…話を聞いていたら涙が溢れてきました。帰りの車内のBGMにまた涙が出て号泣。自分の中の凝り固まった部分が溶けたような感じでした。大切な事を考えさせてくれるツアーです。やまぴーさんは素晴らしいエンターテイナーです。沢山の方がこのツアーに参加されるといいなぁと思います。
ツアー参加頂き有難うございました。ハレアカラ山頂から少し動いた場所にサンセット絶景スポットがありまして、皆さんをご案内しています。人も居なくてゆっくりサンセットの沈む様子が眺められます。不思議なことにここに来ると今までの色々な日々が走馬灯の様に浮かび、地球の大きさと雄大な景色に包まれます。人生回り道してもいいのではと思ったりします。またマウイにいらしゃってくださいませ。

その日の気温や込み具合によって外に出る場所を考えてくれたり、美しい撮影スポットに連れて行ってくれて、素敵な写真をたくさん撮っていただけるし、
美味しいお弁当、暖かいお茶、椅子に座って毛布を掛けて観る星空、心に染みるお話などなど、予想どおり最高の経験でした
今度は新月の頃にまた参加したいです

至れり尽くせり！日本人ガイドならではのハレアカラツアー

これは大正解でした。
ハレアカラ到着までのマウイ島にまつわる四方山話、安価でレアなお土産の
紹介などもあり、飽きる事なくあっという間に山頂へ。
山頂へ着いてからもよどみない説明の合間に、マジック・アワーのシャッター
チャンスを逃すことなく参加グループ毎に手際よく写真撮影をしていただきました。
星空観測では椅子、手袋、毛布、そして温かい麦茶の提供、有難かったです。
高倍率の天体望遠鏡を通して、月面もはっきりと観測できるとは！
以前ハワイ島で同様のツアーに参加した時と比較すると、感動度合は全く異なりなした。星を眺めながらのガイド山内さんのお話も、久しぶりに聞いた心に染みる良いお話でした。これからも出来る限り、このツアーを続けて頂きたいです。
この日は月が出ている日で、多少星が月の明るさで半減してしまったと思うのですが、半月の時は月のクレーターが着陸できるような距離で眺められるので、これもひとつの楽しみですね。また是非3000メートルの夕陽と星空を見に来てくださいませ。再会を楽しみにしております。
