best two hours on the water EVER

見れました。
投稿者: あああ, 2018/01/03船に乗り込むとき、膝の上までバッチリ濡れました。鯨はかなり近い所で見れました。おなかが見えるくらいのジャンプも見れました。マウイに行った大きな目的の一つが達成できて嬉しい。軽食というのは、小さなサンドイッチ程度。

見えました！！
投稿者: ｓａｔｏ, 2018/01/0212月シーズン始まってすぐでしたので見れるか不安でしたが、当日の朝ホテルの部屋から海を見ていると。遠くに潮吹きが見えました。
これは今日はラッキーかもと期待しての乗船。最初は遠くで潮を吹いている様子でしたが、右舷、左舷どちら側でもクジラを見ることができました。
ブリーチは一度だけ、突然だったので写真におさめることはできませんでしたが、感動ものです・
後半は、船を移動して子どもくじらを見せてくれました。
乗客は、欧米人のみ。東洋人は、当方2人でした。英語はさっぱりですが、なん小さい船にのりたかったので選びました。
小回りがきく船ですので、おもしろかったです。小さなお子さんは危ないかも。
ただ、チェックインの際、受付の女性の態度がいまいちでした。
バウチャーには、しっかり時間、名前、そして受付小屋の番号も記載されているのに、「ここと違う。三つむこうの小屋へ」とバウチャーを返され、その三つむこうの小屋の受付のおじさんに、バウチャーを見せると、ここではないよと親切に言ってくれ、しかもいっしょに最初の小屋についてきてくれました。
その人にこれはここと言われても、女性の態度は横柄で、にこりともせず、乗船番号札をわたしてくれました。
英語圏の客でないのが気にくわないのか、残念な態度でした。
そして、もうひとつ、下船の際、クルーの女性が、他の乗客に笑顔で握手していたので、主人が感謝の言葉を言いながら手をさしだすとひっこめられました。
ハワイ島では感じなかったのですが、マウイ島では、この時以外にも日本人に対してきびしいかな
と思った経験がありました。

Outstanding whale watch
投稿者: Carol and Jim , 2017/12/30We were totally impressed with the professionalism of the research staff on the whale watch of Dec 8. The pilot was extremely experienced and could pick up the behavior of the whales from afar to make an educated guess as to if they might come up more often than not. The attendants were knowledgeable as well providing much information as to the life cycles of the hump back whales. Many questions were answered to our satisfaction. They put a sort of a microphone to attempt to detect whale sounds although not successful they were willing to try all the technology to help us have the best experience ever. I really think luck played a big part in our amazing morning of whale watching but that being said it's worth taking a chance and we most appreciated the staffs attention to safety and providing all the education they did. The juvenile whales came right up to our boat and we're curious and playing around the boat so long the pilot had to call a sailboat over to distract them away so we could start our engine and return to shore. It was just amazing.

What we got was a large, clean, well equipped vessel. A very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great weather and phenomenal views of several different pods of humpback whales.

Saw just a few whales, overall okay experience
投稿者: sunny, 2017/12/19The cruise started off at the harbor where we checked-in, waiting to board. Once we were seated, the boat undocked and we were on our way to watch some whales. The narration was the best part of the trip. The narrators were very informative and would tell us stories. They were always on the lookout for whales and try their best to take the boat as close them as possible but it was our mis-fortune that around that time we could only spot a few whales that too for just a couple of seconds. On the other hand, the views were surreal from the middle of the ocean. They guarantee a sighting and that's exactly what we got but I wish it was for longer.

Great experience for 3-year old daughter!
投稿者: Kenji Miwa, 2017/12/18It was my daughter’s first time whale watching and I felt it was a great experience for my little one. We were able to see a couple of whales from far away, but since it was not during the peak whale watching season, we couldn’t get the full whale watching experience. I would love to come again during the peak season around February, which is what I heard is when there is the most whale activity. Other than that the view was great and I would recommend whale watching to anyone who haven’t experienced it yet. The water may be a little choppy at times so I would recommend people taking motion sickness medication for people who might be sensitive to motion sickness.

Whale Watching in Maui!

We were all anxious to see whales and our boat got right out there and we started seeing whale spouts. The boat was always on top of where the whales were. Through out the entire ride, the captain was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all questions. The boat itself was well stocked and very clean. There were plenty of tables inside and on top, as well as seats on the front and back. Everyone had a place to sit and could see the action from anywhere on the boat. The end of the tour was the most incredible. Two whales swam literally under the boat and came out in front of the bow. Seeing how big these amazing creatures were so close was a once in a life time experience. Both whales came up for air at the front of the boat. The whales seemed as curious about us as we were about them, and hung out around our boat for a good fifteen minutes. I highly recommend this tour and their company for an incredible whale watching tour!! The experience is excellent for couples and families with children of all ages. My one bit of advice would be to show up twenty five minutes before check in as it was very busy and took some time to find a parking spot.

3回見れました！
投稿者: ちなみ, 2017/12/083回くらい見えたうちの最後の1回がとても近くで見れて感動しました！私は母と参加して携帯しかなかったのですが十分動画におさめられて満足です！強いて言えばジャンプをもっと近くで見たかったな〜という感じなので星4つにしました。あと軽食も飲み物も有料なので何か持って行ったほうが良いです。
ホテルから20分くらいでレンタカーで行きましたが港の近くに広い公共の駐車場があったので便利でした！お昼におわってそのままラハイナの街を散策するのもお勧めです。

‘Twas a beautiful morning chasing sea life!
投稿者: Michelle, 2017/12/08My little family of 3, husband and my 3 month old, went on this whale watching excursion and it was the highlight of our trip! I was very excited to find out that infants are welcome aboard. The entire crew was very informative, fun, and did everything they could to help the everyone spot some whales. We were so lucky to cruise with hundreds of spinner dolphins right below us. We even got close enough to spot a whale even though we were told it was early in the season. O would recommend bringing binoculars if you have some and a jacket because it definitely gets chilly and windy out there. Thank you to the entire crew for making my dream of seeing the whales come true!

クジラが遠くに見えました
投稿者: オカケン, 2017/08/15天気は少し曇り気味でしたが、マウイらしい快適な気候は変わりませんでした。
あれから２年半経っての投稿になりましたが、今でも鮮明に覚えています。
クジラが遠くに見えて宙返りをしてくれました。
シャッターチャンスがものすごく難しいですが、次回はスマホではなくいいカメラを持っていきたいですね！

遠目だが見られました

缶ジュースとスナックをいただきました。
クジラは遠目が多かったが、何頭か見ることができました。
一度だけ船のすぐ横でしぶきをあげてくれて興奮しました。
ラハイナ港にはホエールウォッチングの会社がいくつもありました。
滞在ホテルから港まで徒歩圏だったので、事前に散歩がてら
カウンターの場所を確認しておいたので、当日は迷わず行けました。
マウイ島を海上から見ることができたのもいい思い出です。

You should have seen the one that got away!

You well need a nice set of binoculars to see the detail in sales brochures. All we saw were distance tail and fin flops although some say they saw a baby come out of the water. We enjoyed just setting on the beach watching the whales in the evening as the actual tour....An underwhelmed Okie!

親子クジラ、群れのクジラ、たくさん見られました！
投稿者: miho, 2017/02/19前半は遠くで潮を吹いている姿がちらほら見られるくらいで、なかなか近くでは見られないものなんだなと半分あきらめていたところ、親子クジラがかなり近い距離に現れてくれて感動。その後も、７〜９頭ほどのクジラの群れに遭遇。大満足でした。船にはナチュラリストの方が乗船していて、ずっとマイクで解説をしてくれて楽しかったです。細かいところまでは理解できませんでしたが、クジラが現れると「○ o'clock!（○時の方向）！」「left! right!」と言ってくれるので、大丈夫です。
※予約時点では「英語ガイド」と記載されていましたが、当日チェックイン先の港へ行くと日本人のガイドさんが待っていてくれました。なぜクジラがマウイ島に集まるのか、クジラの習性、見るポイントなど事前に説明してくださってありがたかったです。

Incredible!
投稿者: Makenna, 2017/02/18Our whale watching cruise was incredible. The staff was so kind and very informative. The crew knew the answers to all of the questions that guests were asking about the whales and their lifestyles.
Our departure location changed due to weather and the staff made sure to contact us multiple ways to ensure that we were aware of the changes. Very helpful!
The only disappointment is that we weren't served cinnamon rolls, which had been advertised as the menu for the morning departure.

親子で大満足！また行きたい！
投稿者: ニーノ, 2017/02/16小２の娘と親子3人で利用しました。当初は、カアナパリビーチから出航でしたが、天候によりラハイナ港発に変わりました。前日にメール連絡ありましたが、wifi環境下におらず返信できずにいたら、電話連絡がありました。宿泊先のシェラトンマウイからラハイナ港まではタクシーで片道17ドル程度。港に着くといくつものホエールウォッチングツアー窓口があり、主催会社のトリロジーを探しあてるのに少々手間取りました。結果としては、窓口はなくトリロジーのお兄さんが立っていて「トリロジー？」と声をかけていたのに気づき無事乗船となりました。白い小さな灯台を目印にとのことでしたが、その真下にいるのではなく、近くにいました。灯台すぐ近くの窓口で聞いたときは、「違います！」との切ない回答だったので、注意が必要です。
さて、肝心のホエールウォッチングは、乗船時こそは後ろのほうで座っていましたが、やはりクジラが見たくてヨットの前方に移動し、椅子はなかったけどど真ん中の真ん前に陣取りクジラを探しました。出航からほどなく沖合に、潮を吹く姿を見つけたり、ジャンプの後らしき波しぶきを見つけたり。だんだん沖に進めば進むほど、しっぽを確認できたり、ジャンプも見られました。船のすぐ近くをクジラが悠々と泳いでいく姿や、迫力のジャンプに大興奮！ 多くのクジラを見ることができました。ホテルに戻ってからツアーガイドさん曰く、「今年はエルニーニョが終わったのでクジラがとても多い」とのことで、去年より断然みられる確率が高まったとのことです。エルニーニョの間は、クジラがメキシコ湾にとどまりハワイまで南下するクジラが少ないのだとか。また、クジラのジャンプがより多くみられるのは、海水温の低い朝夕だそうです。私たちは、午後からのツアーだったので、心配していましたが、幸運にもたくさんのクジラを見られました。船上ではアルコールを含むドリンク、ハムサンド、クッキー、ポテトチップスなど軽食とドリンクが供されます。クルーの方々は、日本語は通じませんが、特に問題なくとても楽しめました。また、ぜひ2月のマウイに行き、ホエールウォッチングツアーに参加したいと思います。 ちなみに、写真はスマホ撮影のみでしたので、ガイドブックのような迫力あるショットとは程遠く・・・。一眼レフを持っていた方もいましたが、いつ波しぶきがかかるかも分からないのでリスキーかもしれませんね。広い海の中で、どこからクジラが姿を現すかわからないので、ファインダーをのぞきながらだと見つけにくいという点でももったいない気がします。

楽しめました。
投稿者: Applecrisp , 2017/02/14天候が良くなかったのか前日にラハイナ発に変更との連絡を丁寧なVELTRAの担当の方からのメールで頂きました。ラハイナ港ではパーキングがすぐ見つからず集合時間ギリギリになってしまい焦りましたが、Front StとPrison Stにある無料パーキングを教えてもらい無事乗船！他の方々が書かれている様にクルーの方達は1人1人に気遣って飲み物やフルーツ、軽食を運んで下さったので、クジラを見る事に集中して楽しむ事が出来ました。乗船人数も丁度いいサイズだと思いました。皆でクジラを見つけた時には盛り上がって楽しかったです。エンジンを止めている時に近くにクジラが来てくれて感動しました。天気に左右されず楽しめるのでおすすめです。
