Beautiful views, relaxing.
投稿者: Bette lou, 2023/12/21The riverboat cruise was a great experience. The riverboat ride was gentle and relaxing. The views were exceptional. Our host gave us a background of the area, which was interesting, and also let us enjoy the peaceful silence as well. Seeing the kayakers on the river was enjoyable. My only advice would be to wear good shoes with traction. The walk up to the grotto can be a little slippery due to moisture and moss. The entertainment that took place at the destination of the grotto, was really entertaining. Enjoy the ride!

The entertainment was amazing and we learned a lot about the fern grotto. The short hike was easy and we saw lots of ginger blossoms. This was a great family activity!

2023.10.8(日)早朝からのクルーズ(ナ・パリ・コースト、ニイハウ島沖) に参加して
投稿者: 大きな志, 2023/10/2910年くらい前にカイアウ島へ行ったことがあり、カララウ展望台からの景色を見たときから、ナ・パリ・コーストをいつか船上から是非見てみたいと思っていました。今回、思い切ってハワイ島、カウアイ島へ行くことにし、日本でこのツアーに参加申し込みをしていました。
実際に行って、大変良かったと思います。ナ・パリ・コーストの美しさを実際に自分の目で見れたことは何にも代えがたいです。できれば、コーストのもう少し先まで見てみたいと思いました。また、ナ・パリ・コーストへ行くまでのバーキングサンズビーチ、ポリハレ州立公園のきれいな長いビーチも良かったと思います。前日にバーキングサンズビーチの少し先あたりの舗装されていないところまで車で行きましたが、ポリハレまで行くのは容易でないと思っていました。
シュノーケリングは不得手で、ニイハウ島沖でのシュノーケリングはしませんでしたが、フィンをつけて少し泳ぐだけでもすればよかったと思っています。当日は33名の参加で、日本人は私だけでした。他の人は皆、シュノーケリングをしていました。ニイハウ島の景色も印象に残りました。
キャプテンもよく説明されていました。英語での説明はほとんどわかりませんでしたが。
ナ・パリ・コーストのスケールの大きさ、自然の偉大さを実感したツアーでした。とても印象に残ります。
行く前は現地での車の運転等、気にしていましたが、無事、行くことができて有難く思っています。事前の計画、準備をしっかりしておくことが大事だとあらためて思いました。キャプテン、2人のクルーに感謝します。

Try to find good seats
投稿者: Csaba, 2023/10/21Ordered tickets online, showed up early at the location and waited in the line to get in the boat. I was lucky to get good seats in the boat where the view is better than seating in the middle. If you take this trip you will see what I mean.
Some of the people ended up seating in the middle and they didn’t look happy about that…

The fern grotto is absolutely beautiful; although a little disappointing that you can't go inside the cave these days, its still a worthwhile trip. Commentary on the way back was very informative and gave everyone some insight into Hawaiian culture.
Acoustics could have been better as it was hard to hear some of what was being said.

Good time!
投稿者: Giggly , 2023/10/11The weather was beautiful and our guide on the.boat was fun. The ladies who sang and did the hula were a nice touch. I learned things about the hula that I did not know. They made the excursion memorable. The fern grotto was pretty it it looks like it needs to recover a lot of its growth. Glad we went, though. An interesting adventure.

Way too crowded
投稿者: TravelerT, 2023/09/13I was expecting to "be at one with nature" but there were so many people. We took a short walk up the path, which was beautiful but no time to stop & appreciate it or take photos. Then, when reaching to grotto, it was so crowded, there are other people in all the photos. You don't actually go into the fern grotto, you see it from a short distance. We were told we could take photos on the way down, but the path is narrow and there's the huge line of people behind you so you can't stop. The river ride was nice, but the entertainment took away from the peacefulness of the ride.

A nice family outing.
投稿者: TTD, 2023/09/09My husband and I did this trip with our 20 and 14 year olds. We all enjoyed it. The boat scenery is beautiful the grotto is an amazing site and the music and entertainment on the way home was nice. We all even participated in the hula lesson.

Fern Grotto boat tour
投稿者: Debbie, 2023/09/05Beautiful river excursion; would have loved more time and not so rushed at the Grotto. One song seemed lame. Wanted time to take pictures of foliage on way down. Definitely would not recommend for wheelchair guests. It was steep and pavement unfriendly to wheelchair wheels and very steep and slippery incline uphill.
Entertainment on way back was very fun and good.

Wonderful River Cruise

カウアイ島に来たならMust go!

特にチェックイン等もなく、バウチャーを見せてそのまま船へ。
出航したら周辺のいろいろな説明を聞きながら川を遡行。
途中、カヤックに乗った人達と手を振りあいながら十数分での船着き場に到着。そこから徒歩で数分のところに目的の洞窟がバーンと登場。
洞窟の中にこそ入れませんが、壮大かつ神秘的とも言える佇まいに何とも言えない落ち着きと満足感が漂います。洞窟前では、フラも披露され、ハワイ感を存分に堪能できます。
帰りの船内でもハワイアンミュージックの披露や、ツアー参加者全員でのプチフラ教室?!も。皆んなノリノリで一体感もまた良かったです！
今回のツアーでは日本人のまとまった参加があったため、「上を向いて歩こう」のフラバージョンの披露も。別のツアーの団体さんか何かのようでしたが、もしそれらの方がおられなければ日本人は私一人だったので、この曲を聴くこともできなかったかと。なかなかラッキーな体験でした。

Amazing experience!
投稿者: Matt Olsen, 2023/07/13This is our second time going to the Fern Grotto and it was just as beautiful and amazing as the first time we went 9 years ago. We booked online and it was very easy. We got to the check in site and they handed us a ticket with our name already on it and asked us to turn it in when we boarded. Right on time, they asked us to head down to the dock and board our river boat. Everyone that we encountered had a big smile and a kind word for us. They gave us a brief safety talk and we were off! Our guide going out there was very knowledgeable and talked to us about the history of the island. When we reached the Fern Grotto, they sang for us some beautiful songs and then we hiked a little way up to the grotto. We took lots of pictures and then made our way back! We were treated to some songs and beautiful hula dancing on the way back. The young lady on the microphone was so much fun! She was a jokester, and she had a beautiful singing voice. The ladies doing the hula dancing were just so beautiful to watch and you can tell they love what they do. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I highly recommend. I do recommend booking online as it will save you some time when you get there. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Great family activity

We really enjoyed the hula dancing and singing along the ride. The time spent on the boat and walking to was not too long so it was perfect for our group.

Fun river cruise!
投稿者: Warren Mitchell , 2023/06/30This was a really nice time. The cruise was just long enough to relax, enjoy some Hawaiian culture and see the beautiful Fern Grotto. We never felt rushed and enjoyed everything at our own speed.
We didn’t realize how big the Kauai River is. We had always pictured it as being much, much smaller.
It was also very affordable and definitely worth the time and money.

Wonderful trip
投稿者: Sue, 2023/06/25After a 44 year absence my husband and I returned to the Wailua River cruise with our oldest granddaughter. Much had changed and much was still the same. The boats are bigger and covered. The music was fun and enjoyable. The cave is less accessible than it was way back then but that was due to natural consequences and the family has worked hard to create a lovely walk and viewing area. We appreciated the wonderful family involved in all aspects of the trip and learned more about the area. It was a wonderful lead into our night at the Smith Family Luau which we also enjoyed and recommend!
