Everyone Had A Great Time
投稿者: H Baxter, 2009/02/24We highly recommend this luau - the whole family from age 7 to age 75 enjoyed it. The food was awesome, the gardens were beautiful and the dancing was amazing. I love that this is a family run business, and you can tell that they all really invest their time and care into every detail. Even grandpa Smith was out in the food line making sure the buffet was tidy and fresh. I was really impressed by the quality of the dancers! Some might say, though, that this is a bit on the "schmaltzy" side - it might not have the cosmopolitan feel of some of the other luaus, I certainly wouldn't say it was a romantic or upscale sort of thing - but I liked the old-time feel of it. Also, don't rush to get there, we arrived at the very beginning and took the tram ride through the gardens - then waited about an hour for the entertainment and refreshments to start.

This was our first trip to the Big Island for our 20th anniversary, so we were trying to pack in a wide variety of activities. A Luau was almost a must on the list of things to do. We were not sure what to expect, but the experience was one we wouldn't have wanted to miss. Very well done by everyone involved. Mahalo!

Smith's Luau & Fern Grotto Tour
投稿者: Betty Kaszula, 2009/02/14The Smith's Luau is the best on Kauai. They have lovely grounds to tour, the emu ceremony is great. We have been to this before and I would recommend it to everyone. The tour up the river to the Fern Grotto was great. The people running these tours are well versed in the history and knowledge they share with guests. They make everyone feel special!

Absolutely the BEST Luau anywhere!
投稿者: Perscon, 2009/02/10I've lived in Hawaii and returned for many occasions, and Smith's Luau is absolutely the BEST Luau on any island at any price! The setting is absolutely gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and outgoing, the food was absolutely the best and there was plenty of it! Open mai-tai bar was a great value, dinner entertainment was fun but not overwhelming and the show afterward was a great Luau value. The thing that impressed me the most was Mr Smith, the owner, was available, visible and active in every part of the evening, from un-earthing the pig to singing and entertaining at dinner. I would HIGHLY recommend this event for anyone who visits Kauai - you WON'T be disappointed!

Totally Worth It!
投稿者: Melissa S, 2009/02/07What a great time! We went with a group of 6 for my birthday and had an amazing time. We splurged for the delux, front row seating, and were placed right next to the stage, with lei greeting, drink tickets, great table service and perfect views.
We took part in the huki lau, the games, the imu ceremony, got our pictures taken with the royalty, my husband even got me on stage to hula! The food was amazing and the show was really great.
This was the 2nd visit for my husband and I, the first for our friends and everyone agreed it was totally worth it, a great time, and we will certainly come back again and again!

Fun way to spend an evening

宿泊ホテルでの開催でしたので、集合も、終わってから部屋へ戻るのもとても便利でした。
食事の前にあちこちで参加型のイベント（葉っぱで魚を作ったり、ココナツの実を割るのを見たり）があり楽しい。
フラや、タヒチアンダンスやファイアーダンス等等、色々な種類のダンスも楽しめ、とてもよかったです。
食事は…ブッフェですが最初だけテーブルごとに取りに行くので、多人数でも混乱なく進みました。
家族みんな満足してよかったです。

Drinks on the beach.....
投稿者: the ancasters, 2009/01/13We are a family of six, ages 16, 18, 20, 22, 48, and 49. This is one of the best Luaus. There are all kind of activities befor the dinner which was entertaining and fun. The food was great and the service was awsome. We enjoyed the whole evening. Thank you for the wonderful time. And the bus-ride was so fun. great employees.

素晴らしかったです！
投稿者: もぺもぺ, 2009/01/111月3日にハワイに着き、その日にトワイライト・デラックス（高齢の母が一緒でしたので、昼からですと疲れますので・・）行きました！行きの車の中では、日本人留学生が面白い話を聞かせて下さり、観光しながらの楽しい時間でした！お食事もカニあり、ローストビーフありで満足のいくものでした！（話によりますと、早く行かないとなくなってしまうそうですよ！）待望のホライズンも真ん中の前から3番目で最高！！の席でした。1月からショーの内容が変わったとかで、以前の踊りだけとは違うミュージカルのようでとても良かったです！休憩時間にはおっきなパイナップル、マンゴーアイスを無料で頂け、得した気分です！母もとても喜んでいました！オアフに行かれたら是非行ってみて下さい！お勧めいたします！！

何度観ても感激！！

もっとよく観たいという希望もあり、『トワイライト・デラックス』にして奮発しましたが、予想を裏切らない前から３番目の通路側のとてもいい場所で観ることが出来ました。念願のデザートも食べれたし、とても感激です！！

Good cultural luau
投稿者: Biochembelle, 2009/01/05Transportation was convenient and our guide Trina made the trip entertaining. At the luau, they were very organized in dividing the guests into their seating areas. The crafts during free time and the staff assisting were excellent, though an hour wasn't enough time to get to all of the crafts. Dinner was very tasty, especially the kalua pork. As a previous reviewer has mentioned on this site, the drink coupons are valid only for certain drinks, but premium drinks can be purchased for an additional $3-7, depending on the drink and size. Please note it is a cash only bar. The bar was not well staffed, but the tour guides would fetch drinks for the guests, so at least we didn't have to stand in long lines. The bartenders were free with the quantities of alcohol going into the drinks. The dancing show was good, but I have seen better, particularly at the Polynesian Cultural Center. However, the PCC does not serve alcohol or caffeine. Also, this was the only time during our week stay on Oa

Fun Evening
投稿者: Cynthia, 2009/01/04Food was very good and it was helpful that they explained all the items on the buffet for those not familiar with Luau fare. The show was very well done and we had fun doing the activities at the beginning. Only downside is they do all the activities at the same time (hula lesson, palm weaving, etc.) so you can only do one. Also, if you're expecting a flower lei be prepared to pay extra for it or bring your own. We got ours at Costco, they sell a 2 pack of fresh orchid leis for only $6.50. Overall, a very fun evening right on the beach.

投稿者: Mr. Anonymous, 2008/12/29Food and show was good. But, we would like to have some more interaction with audiences to perform Luau dance. We were expecting atleast that during the course of performances. Though it was done as brief introductory on Luau dance before the show began but it would be nice if we could participate as family then it would be very very more vibrant live show where family, friends, kids everybody can enjoy and have fun. This is a small request if they can spend some time during their main course of performance on this.
Other than that food, drinks are delicious. Here is a small request if they can put name tag in front of the each of the dish / item so people who are verigiterian / non-vegiterian can pickup their food selection very easily and can avoid un-necessary waist on the food. Though the organizer anounced the all the food items but by putting a name tag for food items that are served on that day would not cost any more.

周りの皆さんたちも とてもフレンドリー。すべて大満足！！
日本人ばかりのところより 楽しめるとおもいます。皆さんにおすすめです。 少しの勇気と度胸でとても 良かったです。

We were seated with people who we did not know, but had lovely conversation and enjoyed ourselves. If you find you're not going to have a good time, then "bring your own good time" That's my philosophy. So our time here was fantastic.

楽しかったです。

薦められていました。
そんな評判どうり楽しい時間をすごせました。
ハワイに住み１０年、初めて本当のハワイの歴史を知りました。
スタッフの方々もフレンドリーで、皆一生懸命説明してくれます。
ハワイはすばらしい、ハワイは心を癒される、
改めてこのハワイに暮らせて幸せーと感じさせられる
最高の時間をすごせました。
このポリネシア文化センターお勧めですよ。

The cast really seems to enjoy the songs and dance. A smile says a lot and they smile a lot! Don't miss it. If you have not seen a Island show make this one the one you go to see!

hawaii最大のポリネシアンショーに驚き
投稿者: 匿名希望, 2008/12/05 今年ファミリーで参加しました。ワイキキから少し遠いので近場のショーにするか否か迷ったのですが、このショーに参加して大正解でした。
他の方のコメントにあるように最後のホライズンショーは圧巻です。
友人がオアフに行くたびに毎回参加するということで強く勧められ半信半疑でしたが、今では友人の言うことがよくわかります。
今度参加するときは、昼間から行くツアーで楽しみたいと思います。

ナルホド。経験者の口コミ通り、日本人観光客はワタクシメと家内の二人だけでした。
右を向いても左を見ても、欧米かっ！って感じでした。
ＢＵＳの中で、しゃべりまくるガイドのオネーサン。
早すぎて、通訳が間に合いませんでした。
しかも、到着したその日に行ったので、頭が英語の脳になってないのと、眠いのと・・・。
ワタクシメも家内も、ＢＵＳで移動中は殆んど、寝てたような気がします。
時々目覚めてＴＯＷとか言ってた様な気がします。
ＢＵＳの車番が２号車なんですが。
ステージが始まる前にアチコチで、いろんなパフォーマンスをやる訳ですが、寝ぼけの頭ではなんだか判らなくって。
でも、これらは、言葉が通じなくても平気ですねぇ。
椰子の実を、地面にさした杭で剥いたり、椰子の木の早登り
をやったり、ｈｕｌａのレッスンをやってたり。
食事中のステージのショーも素敵でした。
途中で、暗くなったんで、アレ、もう終りかヨ。照明を消すことはネェじゃねぇかよ。って思ってたら、ソレからが本番
ファイアーダンスが有ったり、素晴しい照明効果で、充分たのしんだんです。
ＨＡＷＡＩＩＡＮのルーツは、東南アジアからミクロネシアポリネシアそしてハワイ諸島ってのが、ダンスと衣装でわかります。
いいお勉強になりましたよ。
