Forrest was quite knowledgeable and so polite! I'm prone to motion sickness, but did not get nauseous at all in the van. Got to get out and walk along the water, pet and feed horses, and learn all about the history of the beautiful, Hawaiian valley. This tour was one of my favorite things we did while on the Big Island! Initially, the plan was to just go to the Waipi'o Valley lookout. I am so glad we ended up deciding to take the tour. You're taken down into the valley (on an extremely steep road) in a 10ish seater van. I get really carsick and had no issues during the tour. Our wonderful guide, Forrest, informed us of the history of the valley and it's people. He was extremely informative and clearly cares so much about the valley and it's history. The views inside the valley were stunning! Do yourself a favor and book this tour.

We had a great driver/tour guide in Omar. He shared his love for the valley where he was born and raised with such joy and we felt like we got an insider’s view. The personal anecdotes about his family, and tales of fishing, hunting, canoeing, surfing, etc., really made the tour come alive for us. The overlook provides a stunning view but going into the valley provided a rich context for life of the Hawaiian people who have lived off the land and sea for generations. The valley is such a special place, a piece of history and way of life beautifully preserved; I feel blessed and privileged to have had this experience. And we even met one of the wild horses.
