Provence Luberon Villages Day Tour from Avignon

Our guide was very good. According to her, apparently our tour did not actually have the lavendar fields as part of the tour, but she still brought us to more than one (here and there - it was early july) because we were tight on schedule and had time.

Guia muito boa, com conhecimento, pontual. Valeu a pena ter conhecido Saint-Tropez, mesmo na baixa estação. Cidade agradável, com ótimos restaurantes e lojas. Port Grimald também tem seu charme.

Overall the tour was fantastic. We got to see more of Provence than we ever thought possible. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and was able to handle a very difficult situation (ill customer) in a professional manner. However, perhaps a tour that was covering so much territory should have had everyone meet at a central location. An all-day tour should not have included returning to Avignon to drop off half-day AM customers and pick up half-day PM customers. We feel we lost 1.5 hrs. We were rushed through Roussillon and barely made it to Pont du Gard in day-light. Also in order to eat lunch we had to grab a sandwich and eat in the van.

City Discovery was very accommodating as Originnaly our pick up was in Nice but we were able to change the day before to a location in the town where we were staying. Eze was beautiful, perfume factory interesting, Monaco was very crowded. Tour guide was knowledgeable on the area. Our tour was supposed to include La Turbie but for some reason we did not go there. Tour seemed rushed.

other interessting topics concerning what happend -developements in the last 15 years. ( population growth, building growth, demografic topics etc.)

We had enjoyed this day trip very much. Eze village and St Paul de Vence are pretty and relaxing towns to visit.
Our driver cum tour guide is knowledgeable and informative. He speaks good English. Would recommend this tour to our friends when they visit Nice.

A fantastic tour. We saw a huge amount of Provence, but never felt rushed or hurried. Everything we saw was beautiful, especially Roussilon and the Ponte du Gard.

We loved the Luberon Villages and Luberon Valley. Scenic and gorgeous. Was dissapointed that we missed the lavender in bloom. Since the lavender in bloom is so short, I think the ti<x>tle of your tour is a little misleading. Otherwise, beautiful country, wonderful, courteous drivers and guides. Will definitely choose City Discovery again!

Be great if this tour wasn't split in half and went somewhere other than Avignon for lunch. We would have had the time to have lunch at one of the villages in Provence or even squeezed in another attraction. The morning tour was quite different - laid back in comparison to the afternoon tour (which was packed with activities and much better value)

Tour très agréable,bon guide-chauffeur.
Dommage d'avoir à retourner à Avignon pour le déjeuner pour chercher d'autres clients .Beaucoup de sites visités en une seule journée mais quand même assez de temps pour en profiter.Dégustation de vins bien appréciée.

Very nice itinerary and pleasant/good tour guide and driver.
We would have liked to have more time in each of the stops; especially in Le Baux.
For an all-day tour you must schedule a lunch stop!!!

We liked Port Grimaud & The Wine Country of Chateau De St Martin where we were shown around by the owner herself. French people are so gracious! However St Tropez was a disappointment because we had expected it to be more vibrant being a favourite city of jetsetters.The package of Cannes, Saint Paul de Vence, Antibes which we took the next day (2010-02-23)was far more interesting. We loved St Paul de Vence and Antibes best for their old charm.Thank team in City Discovery for making our tour enjoyable. The MPV vans were clean and in good condition and the drivers on both tours were punctual and polite. We would certainly choose City Discovery for sight seeing the next time we travel!

We took this tour because we had heard so much about St. Tropez. We were not disappointed with the tour but felt that it was not worth taking the time just to say you had been to St. Tropez. We really liked the stop at Port Grimard as it was actually more interesting than St. Tropez. Our guide was very informative and personable. It is unfortunate that the weather was so extremely cold and windy which did not add to our experience.

サントロペは自分たちで行けない場所だったのでこちらのツアーを申し込みました。
6ヶ国語も話せるとっても気さくで優しいドライバーさんでした♪
スペイン人の方も乗車していたので、その方にはスペイン語で接していました。
サントロペはニースから2時間ほどかかりますが、ドライバーさんが音楽をかけてくれたり、お話ししてくださったのであっという間に到着しました★
サントロペもとっても素敵な場所ですのでおすすめです！

ニース滞在が一日半と限られた中でどうしても近隣の村にも行きたかったため申し込みました。思いきって申し込んで大正解でした。添乗員の方はとてもフレンドリーで、気さくに色々と話しかけてくださり、一人で参加している私をとても気づかってくださいました。名所ごとに説明も細やかでしたが、英語だったため内容の理解がまちまちだったことが唯一の心残りです。次回は英語をもっと勉強して参加したいと思います。効率的に回りたい方には是非オススメです。マリオン、ありがとうございました。

うーん、あえて利用しなくてもいいツアーかも

大変楽しみにしていたのですが、だいぶ今一つ、でした。
日本語ガイドさんが早口でばばっと喋られて聞き取れない…かと思うと、シーンとまったく無言になりこちらからあれこれ質問しないと情報が引き出せない、そして、引き出せた情報といえばググったりガイドブックに載っている中でもすごく基本的な情報、ということで、ガイドを雇った、というより、ドライバーを雇った、という感覚でした。
また、車内も空調が効かないなどメンテがイマイチで、ドライバーとしてもプロとはとても言えないような…。ワインにもあまりお詳しくなさそうで、経験や知識に基づいて本当にオススメのワインを紹介される、というよりは、とりあえず有名どころのDomaineに行く、付き合いのある酒屋さんに行く、という感じでした。その点もガイドというよりはドライバーを確保したい、海外で運転したくない、と言ったニーズにはまる企画と思います。ガイドを期待するとかなりの確率で失望する可能性があります。
