Por lo general, no me gustan los tours porque no ofrecen información detallada y las experiencias siempre nos dejan con ganas de haber visto más o conocido más.
Creo que por primera vez, puedo decir con muchísimo gusto, que hemos encontrado un tour sin desperdicio, divertido, informativo, cómodo y muy organizado.
David, nuestro guía, es extraordinario.
Simpático, oportuno, muy comprometido con todos sus clientes y nos contagió de su entusiasmo.
Me gustó tanto, que si vuelvo, lo repetiré.
Usually I do not like tours because they don´t provide detailed information and experiences always leave us wanting more.
I think for the first time, that I can say with great pleasure that we found a tour without waste, funny, informative, comfortable and very organized.
David, our guide, is extraordinary.
Friendly, prepared, very committed to all its customers and their enthusiasm infected us.
I liked it so much that if I return, I will repeat it.

Our guide and bus driver were marvelous. They were well versed in the history and the movie. Our guide had a beautiful voice and knew all the Sound of Music songs which we all participated in singing. It was a fun time. I definitely would recommend this tour to everyone. We had a wonderful time. Thanks.

One cannot go to Salzburg and not do the Sound of Music Tour. Not only was this tour enjoyable, but you actually learn tidbits of information that even after watching the movie many, many times, you still learn something new. You MUST also have the apple strudel that is recommended.

We certainly got our money's worth by prepurchasing the Salzburg Card before leaving New Zealand.
We pick up the cards at the train station on arrival, with no problem. They gave us free entry to numerous attractions and free transport around the city. This provided flexibility for us to decide what to do for the 2 full days in Salzburg. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to complete all we wanted to. Highlights and 'must see' for us were 1 Untersberg mountain cable car; 2 Hohensalzburg fortress including the marionette world and museum; 3 Salzach Cruise.

We would have needed to spend some more time in one of the towns visited. We had less than half an hour to enjoy the beautiful town. I think this town was called St. Wolfgang.

The tour reads a lot bigger and better than it actually is... You do not visit Mirabell Gardens as part of the 4 hour tour. The bus terminal (where the tour starts and finishes) is located directly opposite the gardens so you can enter whenever you like (it is open to the public and there is no cost) but it will be in your own time.
It was good to see the Trapp family home, but you will need to zoom in a lot! There is a mention of a ballroom (?) but I don't recall going inside any ballroom.
I found it a waste of time visiting the Gazebo because it is located on the outside of Hellbrunn Palace (which you do not enter in this tour). There is so much to see and do in the 'actual' palace that I spent half a day there. Included of course, is the Gazebo which is also open to public.
Unfortunately it was pouring with rain while we were at Nornberg Alley, but this may be a pleasant lunch break if the weather is suitable.

It gave us a chance to see the wonderful mountains and countryside in the area around Salzburg. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful and highlighted all the many sights of interest. We enjoyed our Lakes and Mountains tour so much that we booked another tour for the next day! To be thoroughly recommended.

Overall a pleasant tour. A pity that most of the key venues were not open to the public. Although I understand owners desire for privacy, just driving past these places is not very satisfying.
We went on the Lakes and Mountains tour the day before Sound of Music tour and were a bit disappointed to find ourselves covering some of the same territory. It would be good to make that clear to prospective participants.
