I booked this only 2 days in advance with the optional climbing boots add-on as I had only brought runners for my explorations around Europe. So I was nervous that everything would be registered and available in time. It was perfect!
Pick up was a block from my downtown hostel, the guides were informative and friendly and kept a good eye on the group in terms of on-ice safety. the equipment was in good condition (I had never ice climbed before but have taken fall arrest training and worked with full-body harnesses as part of my job). We were lucky to have perfect weather which heightened the whole experience, but the actual instructional portion and then getting to climb out of a 100ft pit using what we had just learned was AMAZING. Just the right elements of 'out of your comfort zone' challenge which gives that feeling of accomplishment. It was great seeing that there was some graduated levels that could be attempted so no one felt like they had to refuse a turn.
Waterfall stops along the way were also beautiful and didn't feel too rushed, although with so much to see it's always hard to turn away!
Would 100% recommend this to anyone seeking a full day adventure, it's extremely accessible to solo travellers who don't have personal vehicles and who have to travel a bit light, though I'd still recommend bringing good winter layers in case you aren't as lucky with the weather. Not for those afraid of heights but that sort of goes without saying! ;)
