We travelled in a luxury coach driven by John, a very experienced driver with a great sense of humour whose knowledge of the area he was taking us was excellent. Our refreshment breaks at Emerald Springs Roadhouse for both breakfast and evening dinner was a good choice; breakfast egg and bacon sandwich was superb and their Scotch fillet with chips was delicious. The scenery from Katherine to the Gorge was stunning, the buffet lunch was well laid on, there was the opportunity for a swim at the Falls before our cruise along the Gorge itself. Don't be put off by the early start or the long day, this trip is a must if, like me, you had only one day to visit the area.
