My friends and I wanted to experience something a little bit different from the big city so we decided to go see the icicles in Ashigakubo. The trip from Ikebukuro to Ashigakubo and Chichibu takes around 1 and a half hour and is a different type of train compared to the ones in Tokyo, so we had our own sort of private space to chat while getting there and enjoy the scenery. Once we got to Ahigakubo we went to see the icicles, it was pretty interesting to see them and see how they make them by spraying water over them; after going around it there's a small hill and once you climb it you can get free tea or amasake, I recommend getting the amasake :). The ticket to go to the icicles is for a whole day so returning during the night is a must! We decided to go to Chichibu and explore it a little bit, had dinner and then went back to Ashigakubo to see the illumination, it was so worth it.

Tokyo Skytree is in a easy to reach location which you can just use Tokyo's metro system to get there. Once you are there, you can experience the amazingly fast and comfortable elevator and, among all, the fantastic views of Tokyo city from a very high point. The views are so amazing that you will always remember and wanna see them over and over again. Also inside the Skytree 350M floor and some floors below they have staffs who will help taking photos for you with different themes and you can also look down from the transparent glass floor to see and feel the height, which is an thrilling and unforgettable experience you can hardly have in anywhere of the world. They also provide food and drinks inside in case you need any of them while you are in the high tower. The staffs there are helpful when you need any help. Walking up and down in the high tower is also an enjoyable thing to do as you can always see something different at different corners and get excited with the things you see. Tokyo Skytree also is a shopping mall which has many good stores to see and shop around. You can find many good stuffs there with good pricing. Also some good restaurants are available to have good dining experience. Overall, it is a must visit point when you visit Tokyo and you will never regret your visit there.

The ticket we purchased allowed us quick access to the Skytree as there is a dedicated counter for our tickets. You can reach the Tembo deck in 58 seconds! The view was great, best time to visit is towards the afternoon where you can see the day and the night views. There is a resto at the Tembo Deck or you can just buy drinks and sit in one of the benches provided. There is a glass-bottom portion for those who are not afraid of looking down the road. There are several spots for great picture taking too!

At first I was hesitant to attend, as our friend told us that the show was interactive and we may get wet. Both were true.
Overall the show was exciting and every scenario kept you guessing as to what was going to happen next. At every change of scene, the technicians guided the floor audience on where to go. At times they would put up ropes to designate where to stay away from. For those whom don't speak Japanese, fear not as hand signals were used to guide the floor audience on where to go.
The show did an amazing job blending Japanese tradition with moden Japan. Points in the show made you feel like a manga came to life. Action packed fun. People flying through the air. Others parts are artistic with traditional elements woven in. Then there was the Japanese dance party. Overall fun for everyone!
A few tips: come early to leave you stuff in the lockers; you'll need a 500 Yen. Bring extra clothes in case you get wet or just don't stand in the middle to the room. Stand closer to the stage. Floor seats are more than worth the price; I don't think the show can be fully experienced or viewed in the way intended if you sit in the balcony.

My friend and I were visiting Tokyo for a couple of days, and attended this show. We weren't disappointed! It was thrilling, colourful, and so unexpected! There were a lot of performances, and they were all so different from one another. One great thing is that the show was really interactive with the guests. Also, the crew were really helpful in guiding all of the guests towards where the action was happening. Although it was a bit wild at times, it was all extremely safe for guests, and a lot of fun.
My advice for someone going to this event is to take advantage of the lockers provided to store your belongings like purses and jackets so that you can fully participate in the interactive parts of the show like jumping and dancing.
Overall, it was great fun and I would totally recommend it to others!

The Tembo Deck view at the evening was just breathtaking. My partner and I rushed our way from Shibuya in the evening to make it to the last entrance at Tokyo Skytree which was worth every cent, skipped the lines and was able to go all the way to the deck by just showing the voucher.
I advice guests who will be visiting the Tokyo Skytree to be mindful of the transportation going there; there is NO JR line that stops by Tokyo Skytree station, just the subway Hanzomon Line . Make sure you schedule your visit accordingly as the last admission is 9PM.

Show Review: From the moment I entered the performance area my jaw was on the floor. The level of detail and the quality of the performance was top notch. The show requires the audience to move around, crouch down, dance and even get a little wet so be sure to wear comfortable shoes (ladies I don't recommend heels) and maybe pack an extra shirt. I was lucky enough to be selected to "fly" with one of the dancers during a section of the show and was harnessed and hoisted above the crowd where I soared alongside amazing projection mapping designs. This show was amazing! I recommend this "wa" style show for both tourists and those living in Japan. You are sure to find it entertaining and worth your money!
Veltra Review: Buying tickets through Veltra was a terrific deal and I recommend this site to anyone! If I could offer one suggestion, it would be more payment options. Being able to use paypal, or a bank transfer for the payment would make it easier for people living in Japan.

Went at an hour before sunset. Would strongly recommend others to do the same - that way, you can catch both the day view, the sunset view (of an orange sky) and also the night view (which is spectacular with its symphony of night lights in the tokyo skyline).
Coming with VELTRA tickets booked before hand allowed my partner and I to skip past the usual queue, and just head to the ticket redemption counter. Saved us 30mins at least by the rate that the queue was moving. Best decision ever!
Nevertheless, due to the huge crowds, we felt like we were packed like sardines. Perhaps future visitors should come on weekdays instead of a Saturday like we did.

We used this pass in order to visit Chichibu to see the sites that the movies “Anohana” and “Anthem of the Heart” were based on. Picking up the pass was really simple, we visited the Seibu Tourist Information center in Ikebukuro, showed them our voucher and proof that we were foreigners, and received are passes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and provided us with maps of the available Seibu routes that could be taken using this pass. To get to Chichibu, we opted to take the Red Arrow Limited Express train, which required an extra 700 yen limited express fare. All in all, travelling with the Seibu pass was quick, simple, and cheap. Thank you veltra!

We then checked out Chichibu, nice retro town and shrine. Then we finished the evening at Ashigakubo, to see the icicles lit up after dark. We even got a free drink of amazake and there were fire stoves set up to keep off the chill.
Loved it, and recommend booking the Red Arrow ticket for the journey there, so you have longer to enjoy the daylight.

Iconic spot of winter.
The icicles of Misotsuchi is an artistic work of nature. It is a frozen waterfall on the Arakawa river and one of the famous for its natural environment . It can be seen from the middle of January till middle of February. They also look superb when lit up between 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
this photo taken by me using iphone6 plus only but worth enough carrying it strolling around country side .
Amazing and incredibly beautiful, its the beauty of nature, it's also freezing cold to stay long at the place.. hahaha
I also went up again in Hodousan Yama to see beautiful “Wintetsweet flower” and enjoy its fragrance. On my way back to Tokyo I dropped by in Hot spring bath in Chichibu. Worth going for the second time. Definitely I will be back in Summer or in May for Nagatoro Boating or rafting.
Thank youfor this addordable train pass. Looking forward pass for different destinations.

There were the famous water tank from the ceiling, water splash, but there were also Samurai, dancing Maiko, Hannya, and Japanese drums, etc.
