Mt. Fuji Tour with Lake Ashi Cruise and Ropeway Ride from Shinjuku or Shibuya

Pleasant trip for time-bound tourists

Reviewed by: Daniel, 2016/11/02

Since we only had 5 days to explore Japan, we needed to plan our itinerary well. Thankfully, this tour brought us to many amazing places in just one day.

Although mostly cloudy during fall, we were able to sneak a great view of Mt. Fuji at the 5th station. The bus ride was also very smooth, and our tour guide Hiro was very helpful and informative. The tour is also great for elderly since not much walking/trekking is involved.

The only downside is the limited time to do things. We had only 30 minutes to explore Mt. Fuji & less than an hour for lunch.

But considering the locations we were able to visit in a day, I would say it was worth it. We arrived back in Tokyo around past 6 pm giving us enough time to enjoy dinner.f

It was great - the food, the guide, the trip, everything was really good.
So why not 5 stars you might ask? - well, there has to be room for improvement, the bus could be nicer (thats a queation of price i understand that), but why do i still need to print my confirmation, and why do i have to call to confirm when i have paid in full and so on. It's actually quite difficult to call, the number dont work from a mobile phone - du you think a tourist travel with a printer and land line....... off course most hotels offer that, but it's a hassle you can't do everything online, or through the app. But please understand that it is a very very small complaint - the trip was really really good, and the price was low.

Great tour! Fuji was viewable and we were very lucky. Our 2 guides Michael and Xavier were knowledgeable, helpful, very positive people and we would definitely recommend them as our guides.
I suggest if you ask people to meet at the love statue, you should have one of the guides there, as it was a rainy day in the morning and we were standing there not clear if it was the meeting point. We saw a green bus nearby and went to investigate, and that was the actual meeting point, but if we would have continued being passive, we might have missed the bus.

Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Lake Ashi Cruise and Hakone Ropeway Ride

Definitely go to this tour when it is a clear sunny day!

Reviewed by: Stella C., 2016/09/21

Definitely go to this tour when it is a nice sunny day! We went when it was foggy and cloudy so we did not see Mount Fuji at all. The lunch menu isnt that great as the tour brings you to one hotel restaurant. Average price per meal was at least 12,000 YEN. I would suggest to eat at the first pit stop restaurant that is attached to the convenient store. Me and my BF had a ramen bowl that was pretty good for only 500 YEN! We also ate at another restaurant at the Mount Fuji pit stop. That ramen bowl was pretty descent as well! About 700 YEN. Also when the tour is over, I would highly suggest riding the bullet train back since it only takes about 30-40 minutes to get back to Tokyo compared to the bus ride that takes about 2 and half hours. Overall, the tour was okay and I was disappointed that we did not see Mount Fuji and this tour lasted 8+ hours.

Even on a rainy day it was a good trip, as nobody is responsible for the weather! The guide (Yoko) was very optimistic and managed to keep us hopeful all along the journey. She accompanied us everywhere and gave good advice and explanations.
Unfortunately the meal was very basic and a disappointment for me. I had made the same trip some years ago and the choice of the restaurant and the lunch had been much better.

Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Lake Kawaguchi, Oshino Hakkai & Ninja Village

A Rainy Mt. Fuji Trip In August But Still A Great Experience!

Reviewed by: Rose, 2016/08/30

Mike Otani, the tour guide, was warm, friendly and attentive. His personality added a unique flavor to the tour. That's for sure! The tour bus was comfortable, and you can safely leave your things on the bus as you explore the different sights. Regardless of the clouds covering Mt Fuji during our stop at Lake Kawaguchi, a variety of beautiful flowers and a taste of the delicious, locally made blueberry ice cream made up for the obscured view. We also enjoyed the little fruits and veggie store there and bought fresh plums and tomatoes. Oshino village was charming but very much crowded that it felt like a busy market. Lunch at the ninja-themed village was delicious and filling. The place would probably be more enjoyable for families with young kids that need to get their wiggles out after having to sit still on the bus for some time. Mt Fuji 5th station was amazing! The clouds parted just as we got there and granted a view of the summit. You can get away from the crowds by avoiding the shops and hiking some distance up the Yoshida Trail and taking in the breathtaking views. The 4D experience was awesome and exciting! You really feel as though you are flying over Fuji-san and will appreciate the scenery even more. Disappointing that the schedule was too tight to allow a visit to the “La ville de Gaspard et Lisa” in the adjoining section of the park. Wouldn’t have minded paying extra and going home a little late for that. We do feel the various stops were a bit rushed and would've enjoyed a more leisurely pace to allow us to linger a bit longer at certain places. There is just enough time to take pictures and buy food, produce or souvenirs. Perhaps if the tour were to start earlier, then we would be able to unhurriedly digest the activities. Overall, the tour was excellent and well worth it! Would recommend it again, especially to families with kids. Quality of service is great and we are thankful for the experience. Would easily book another tour with Japan Panoramic.

It was raining and traffic was bad during our visit. We did not see Mt. Fuji and we had to skip the cable car ride. I think we should have skipped the 5th station so we could've taken the cable instead. Although the food was delicious, I had hoped the food they prepared for us was Japanese and not Western food. If you are a gambler go in summer as you have to be very lucky to see Mt Fuji because of mist and clouds. Our would not tell us how many days you could see Mt Fugi in summer she would not say but when one goes up the cable car the recorded message says you cannot see the mountain due to cloud! We were very lucky to see the peak for a few minutes from station 5. Our daughter went the week before and saw nothing. Best to go other times of year. Cable car ride was not very good as no view because of the cloud and the temple at the top was closed. Boat trip and lunch were both good. Advise catching train home as only 30-40 minutes compared to several hours that our daughter suffered on the coach because of bad traffic. Catching the bullet train was an experience in itself. Shima, our guide was good.

I was so excited to visit the Mount Fuji, finally we arrived at the 5th station and the journey even if it is long it is quite enjoyable and worth it. The guide is well informed and organised, I have learned quite a lot of information about old japan and their history, and than when you see the Mount you really think is great you did it! And I was also lucky that there was not fog and the sky was clear, but the journey continued we had a very nice lake cruise and reached the Mt. Komagatake by riding an aerial cableway to view the Hakone National Park. To return back to Tokyo I have choosen the Shinkansen high-speed bullet train, which was fast and perfect to get back in not time.

It was our first trip to japan and I was traveling with my husband. We chose the mt fuji tour with lunch. The tour was excellent and enjoyable. Our tour guide Nana was friendly and helpful and she provided us with some interesting information about fuji.
Our meeting place was at the love statue at shinjuku in the early morning. We departed about 15 to 20minutes later than scheduled time as there were a few groups who were late. The journey to mt fuji took more than 2 hours as there were a bit of heavy jam along the highway and this was expected as it was a weekend. The scenic view was really beautiful during the journey.
We passed by lake kawaguchi first bfore stopping at Oshino Hakkai, the Oshino Eight Seas, our first stop. The lakes were beautiful and the water was clear with nice reflective images of its surroundings. We grabbed some small local bites which were delicious and we also bought their local corns which was sweet and juicy. After that, we proceeded to our next destination at the ninja village.
We had our ordered japanese local lunch which was delicious. After that we had a relaxing foot onsen before we ended up at the gift shop to buy some nice souvenirs.
After lunch we proceeded to mt fuji 5th station. It was a foggy day and we could only see fujisan on and off at times. Nevertheless the view of mt fuji was beautiful. We managed to get some really nice shots of mt fuji and also with our tour group.
The last stop was the Fuji Airways 4D attraction. It was a unique and memorable experience. We got to see mt fuji all four seasons and the views were breathtaking. This was the highlight of the whole tour. The feeling was surreal and experience was really awesome. It lasted for about 15mins. After that it was bus back to shinjuku. As the night was still early, our guide shared with us some interesting tips on nearby shops we can visit and what we can buy. Overall it was a really enjoyable trip.
I highly recommend this tour!
