Private Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour with Lake Ashi Cruise & Optional Private Onsen

Best experience in Japan

Reviewed by: Mieri & Alethea, 2018/06/26

We (2 adults) visited Tokyo during the Sakura season and were fortunate to have Tom Harada as our personal guide for a whole day. The driver was a colleague of his who normally does Chinese guided tours so we had two very nice professionals on board.
On our way to Mount Fuji Tom asked us thoroughly about our interests and what we would prefer to see. So he made an individual plan for us and it was great.
The weather was perfect and we had a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji.
Tom knows literally EVERYTHING and he is also very entertaining.
He is not only the perfect guide who can read his clients very well and adapt to that but he is also a great photographer. This has probably something to do with his former job. He took beautiful pictures of us always telling us where to stand so the light and the view would be better.
He took us to a great restaurant for lunch.
We could tell that he is very passionate about what he does and that genuineness is great to see and that is exactly what makes this tour so special.

We strongly recommend this tour for everybody visiting Mt. Fuji.
It was one of the best experiences we had in Japan.
And make sure you ask for Tom.

Private Mt. Fuji & Hakone Tour with Lake Ashi Cruise & Optional Private Onsen

Perfect team of guides

Reviewed by: Brian Shelton, 2018/06/24

Our custom family private day trip with Mr. Tom Harada and his associates was exactly what we wanted. His English was perfect, he was extremely patient, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable about both the history of the areas we visited as well as their current attractions and features. He was waiting for us in our hotel when we arrived in the lobby, and was always managing our time throughout the day so we were able to see everything we wanted. He customized the tour to our preferences and specifications, and also recommended other areas that were convenient and very enjoyable. The transportation was very clean and comfortable, and the driver was very safe. He even assisted us with our bags and booking tickets on the shinkansen at the conclusion of the tour, ensuring we were safely on our way to our next destination. He also offered us his phone number if we had any problems the rest of our trip in Japan he could help with.

This tour is highly recommended, and I would encourage you to trust Mr. Harada with your tour, as he knows all the secrets, hidden gems, and in's-and-out's to ensure your valuable time is spent wisely.

Nikko 1-Day Tour from Tokyo w/ Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Lake Chuzenji & Kegon Falls

It's ok

Reviewed by: Hoai My Winder, 2018/06/22

The shrine was extremely crowded as one would expect visiting such places in Japan. However, it was very loud. I had been to Meji Shrine, Enoshima Island Shrine and despite the crowds there, it was relatively peaceful and quiet. Not so in the shrine in Nikko.
The waterfall was nice as so was the lake.
The drive out of the waterfall almost made me loose my lunch.
The lunch option was wonderful so I recommend that.

Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Lake Ashi Cruise and Hakone Ropeway Ride

Mt Fuji, Ropeway & Pirate Ship Cruise

Reviewed by: Toby, 2018/06/22

Overall experience is great. Tour guide - Ms Kanako was patient and really trying her best to finish completing the venues on time. The time spent on Mount Fuji was really too short. My wife and I do not have enough time patronising all the shops and the photos were taken in a rush (at least 45to60min instead of just 25min). Should have taken out the ropeway since the cable cars are not so impressive. The pirate ships were nicely decorated and the views were amazing. Advice to future participants would be to take the bullet train back to your hotels. My wife and I got back to Tokyo in a breeze around 40min. Those opting to take bus back will need at least 2.5to3hrs since it’s the peak hours. The food at Mount Fuji restaurant was good as well. Do opt for the meals included.

Mt. Fuji Tour with Lake Ashi Cruise and Ropeway Ride from Shinjuku or Shibuya

Not great in summer

Reviewed by: Grace, 2018/06/12

The.tour may be better in other seasons, but in June, low chance of getting a glimpse of Fuji-san. The lake Ashi cruise only took like 10min, and the cable car ride was like a rush hour train ride in Tokyo, I mean jampacked and stressful. The view from the top is magnificent though.

The tour guide was funny and threw in a lot of jokes, but his diction was hard to follow.

The part I enjoyed most is the lunch which was traditional Japanese, at least guests could experience real Japanese style.

Mt Fuji and Hakone in June

Reviewed by: Michael, 2018/06/11

Overall the trip was really nice. We had a very good view of Mount Fuji and the lady that guided us was very professional and very well prepared, maintaining a pleasant atmosphere all the time. Unfortunately we've done this trip at the beginning of raining season (beginning of June) so Hakone area and Lake Ashi was immersed in a very thick fog (luckily the weather around Mount Fuji was very good and we had a clear view of the mountain). But again check very carefully the weather before booking the trip! The success of this trip will be defined by the weather conditions! The lunch wasn't very rich but overall OK (hot pot with rice). You can pack some sweets to have it with you.

I feel spending time per each place too short. We are not enough time to explore. But i know this because we choose 1 day to many place. Maybe next time. Veltra can create better package that allow us to explore more with enough time.

Mt. Fuji Tour from Shinjuku with Shiraito Falls, Oshino Hakkai & Sengen Shrine

Best value-for-money tour of Mt. Fuji and its natural sights

Reviewed by: Rina, 2018/06/01

I was looking for a Mt. Fuji tour that covers great sights and is easy on the budget considering that there were 9 of us in the group, consisting of 1 child, 3 teenagers, 3 seniors and 2 of us adults. This tour exceeded my expectations. It was professionally handled and the sights we went to were all beautiful. Of course, it helped that we had great weather that day, which allowed us to see Mt. Fuji in all its glory, especially during the time that we were at the 5th station. We also specially liked the visit to the cascading water falls, which was simply breathtaking. The time allotted for each place was also just right. Eating lunch on the bus also proved to be very time-efficient and we brought our own lunch since the people in our group have varied preferences. The only unfortunate thing was that traffic was very bad on the way back to Tokyo that Sunday afternoon. It took us 4 hours! Good thing the bus was very comfortable. Maybe the tour can also offer an option for the passengers to take the train coming from one the stations along the way so that people can get back to the city earlier.

Jam packed itinerary but very fruitful

Reviewed by: Jim, 2018/06/01

The itinerary was jam packed but we managed to squeeze in Mount Fuji, a boat ride and a cable car ride all in a day. Mariko-san was also very friendly and helpful as a tour guide. However, I did not get the Mandarin audio guides for my parents that I indicated when I booked the tour, so was a little disappointed.

Overall it was still a great trip. Ichigo Ichie!

Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Lake Ashi Cruise and Hakone Ropeway Ride

No view of Mt. Fuji due to weather condition

Reviewed by: Karen Ann, 2018/05/29

Yoshi-san is a very good tour guide and speaks english. We’re a bit unlucky to get a glimpse of Mt. Fuji from station 5. Yoshi-san allowed us to make a short stop at station 4 where we saw the tip of Mt. Fuji.

Got a better view or Mt. Fuji at the Gotemba area. Lunch is so-so although the Tempura is oishi! Cruise at Lake Ashi is breathtakingly beautiful (if you like scenic view). The cable car ride is a bit disppointing (we were diverted to a different cable car ride because the original ride from the itenerary had some technical issues). Again it was foggy from the top so there’s really nothing to see.

In general it was a 50-50 experience although it was nobody’s fault since you need to consider the weather condition before booking this tour!

Wonderful trip through and through

Reviewed by: Christin, 2018/05/21

We went on 19.05. after the Shibasakura Tour we initially intended to do was cancelled due to the flowers being gone already. Although we wanted to do something different, we were not disappointed by this tour! The places visited go really well together and you learn a lot about Mount Fuji and the surrounding area. Because the tour is planned out so well you don't really notice the transfer times too much, the longest drives are the first and the last and a lot of people were sleeping anyway. Around noon we got the box lunch(one normal, one vegetarian) which both were really good but unfortunately not Japanese but Turkish - this is really complaining on a high level :) We were really lucky to have really nice weather in spite of the forecast saying otherwise - our guide told us early that we might not have a good view and notified us to take pictures as early as possible(even on the bus). That was really good and we were also really satisfied with our guide besides that. Both she and the bus driver were really nice, always on time and it was overall a wonderful day.

Mt. Fuji Tour from Tokyo with Lake Ashi Cruise and Hakone Ropeway Ride

Disappointing!

Reviewed by: Mary C., 2018/05/19

The weather is no one's fault and staff did their best, but the dense fog made seeing anything impossible. We toured area around Mt. Fugi in the fog. The fifth viewing station was closed. We were warned in reservation materials that we might not see the mountain but we didn't expect to be fogged out of every other attraction ( boat ride, lift ) as well. We did see some interesting countryside and a few villages. We also saw a bit of Tokyo as we circled around to pick up other participants at their hotels. We took the bus back, not the train. Train people beat us back to our hotel by about 30 minutes.

I cannot overstate how much I LOVED this tour. I am usually not a tour group person, but this was the best way to get to Mt. Fuji, as well as Aokigahara (the Sea of Trees). The tour guides, Kats and Toshi, were excellent, very polite and informative, as well as easy to understand. There were only 3 of us that went to the forest and cave (and guide), which was perfect. The cave was beautiful, and definitely a favorite of my trip. Warning: the spelunking is definitely for able bodied people and is very physical. I really enjoyed my group I was with, and the day was beautiful. I had a wonderful time! Thank you!!!
