We caught the amazing view of Mt Fuji, had a wonderful Japanese style lunch, relaxing cruise but foggy Ropeway Hakone ride (not their fault though!). Our tour guide was energetic and very accommodating! A must try tour!!

Bus should leave the Bus Terminal in Tokyo one hour earlier to more time at Mt Fuji and Hakone Ropeway.

Changes in schedule, but overall is good

Reviewed by: Javier see, 2015/10/04

The weather was very bad as the rain kept falling for the whole day so it was unfortunate that we could not go up on the ropeway to see mount fuji. The lake cruise was also replaced with lake kawagochi cruise but despite the changes, the event went quite well. The tour guide tried her best to keep our spirits high during the journey. The instructions from her was clear and concise, such as where to meet and what time to meet were communicated well enough.

We visited the mount fuji heritage center, went up via kachi kachi ropeway and sat on the cruise to see lake kawagochi. The views were scenic and breathtaking. We even managed to spot mount fuji from a distance which totally made our day.

The lunch was normal japanese style. The portion was just nice and it was acceptable.

In terms of the overall trip, there was no major delays, changes in sightseeing places were communicated and replaced promptly abd everything went on fine!

I just hoped to visit it again when the weather is much better!!

  • Look at the cute duck boats! !

  • The majestic mount fuji!

I unfortunately missed redeeming a promotional offer from City Discovery when I booked three Tokyo tours online. I called the toll-free number and spoke with a nice lady, who was very helpful and able to apply the promotional offer to all three tours. This is the first time we have used City Discovery, and are looking forward to the tours. Thank you City Discovery!

They keep you busy throughout the day and the tour guide was super friendly! Be sure to bring warmer clothes as you'll be traveling to higher elevation areas that are much cooler than Tokyo.

Overall the tour was good and our guide, Mr. Take was excellent. He was very informative and engaging and shared many helpful information that makes us learn more and appreciate Japan better.

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so we did not see Mr. Fuji or much of Hakone as everything was covered in fog.

Overview the tour is good. The tour guide is very responsible and careful. The bus driver is skillful and keeps his bus in the great condition. The tour content is interesting. The minus points were the lunch quality (bit poor) and the time lost so much on the bus caused of the traffic jam.

The one day tour to Mt. Fuji was very interesting. The bus accommodations were comfortable and our tour guide knowledgeable. Standing at the fifth station was amazing and being about to look up at Mt. Fuji was wonderful. We rode the cable car for a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding area and took a boat ride on the lake below Mt. Fuji. Would I do the tour again? Yes but there are some things to be prepared to understand. The traffic was so heavy leaving Tokyo that it took an additional hour to get there. We only had a 15 minute rest stop which was barely enough time to buy a beverage and a snack. Because of the traffic, we did not get to enjoy the visitor's center. They stopped there for a potty break but we only had five minutes there so we missed all the exhibits. The worst part of the trip was the bus ride from Mt. Fuji to Shinkansen to catch the bullet train back to the city. We had to cross the mountains on a winding road and in his haste to get us there in time, the bus driver, although safe, made my son and granddaughter sick from the motion on the bus. I was seated in the front row so it was not as bad for me. This part of the journey was not mentioned at all prior to the end of our tour.

The tour was great and we had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, we had bad weather but our guide Take (I hope I am spelling his name correctly) did everything he could to compensate for that. Thank you Take! So, the only thing stopping us from loving the tour were the clouds hiding Fuji-san. Hopefully next time we'll actually be able to go up :)

Our guide tour is very efficient and has a way of entertaining us. We would like to thank her (Tour Guide of Bus No. 4) and our apology of not being able to get her name. We'll definitely recommend this to our friends and family members when they visit Tokyo. May we suggest that your client not be subjected to call up your company to confirm which is quite stressful especially we are out of Japan. Presentation of the printed voucher should be enough proof in joining the tour. Thank you for the nice tour!

The tour was professionally managed, the bus, driver and the roads were excellent, the tour guide capable. We had the good fortune of a sunny day despite it being winter, and could go all the way up to station 5! Snow, windy, yet sunny, beautiful blue sky. Gorgeous. The lunch was great, but the Hakone visit, rope gondola and ferry ride were a bit rushed. Then, because it was winter, it became dark by the time we headed towards the Shinkansen station. It was a great one day tour.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo or Japan on a short stay. We didn't get to do all the stated activities, but we did have the alternatives offered which were great and really filled out the day. Due to the weather, we didn't get to see the summit of Mt Fuji which was a shame, but there was so much other stuff to see and take in culturally on the other little excursions/activities we didn't really feel like we missed out at all.

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She explained a lot about the city on the way out of Tokyo as well as the various areas we visited and passed through on the bus.

The lunch was excellent and more than we expected. The only down point was the traffic congestion on the way back to Odawara Station which seemed to take forever, but it was a National holiday so it wasn't unexpected. The trip back on the bullet train was well worth the wait though and we got back to Tokyo station within 30 mins of getting on the train! As we don't have any high speed trains like that in New Zealand it was great to both see and ride on.

I'd definitely book with City Discovery again.
