Where else can one do this? The staff is very accommodating. I speak no Japanese, but one of the girls, Satomi, spoke English very well. She was a dream! There are several colors kimonos to select from as well as obi and hair ornaments. Everyone gets a small locker to store your clothes/purse, etc. The photography session was lots of fun, laughing all the time.
I did have a little trouble finding the street and building, too, once I got on the correct street. A map or better written instructions would have been helpful. Also, maybe I missed it, but I didn't even seen a sign for this business? I wound up asking a local...who just happened to work there.
One other suggestion. The space to change clothes is very, very small. There were other clients in the small space, and the congestion was a bit difficult.
Overall, I'm so glad I did this. I learned a lot about the process & what it takes to be a Maiko. Satomi, you ROCK! Thanks so much for being so kind and helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. I learned so much about what it takes to be a Maiko. Satomi was the dresser/make-up artist who helped me. She spoke English, which enabled me to learn a lot about the process and what all is involved in becoming a Maiko. I highly recommend! My only critique is that is not so easy to find the location. More detailed maps/instructions would be very helpful.

Thanks for coming!I'm Satomi,I'm glad that you've enjoyed our experience.
We're so sorry about our locker room.Since we only have a small space in our building, it's hard for us to get bigger space.
Our building is called"Machiya", it's build in 1900's so that's why we only have a small space.
"Machiya" is a Kyouto's traditional building,so many tourist love to see this.
Kyouto's street is very difficult to understand, sorry that we confused you.
Hope to see you again, thank you so much!
