Although this is now the only way that you can visit the Waipio Valley it is so worth taking the guided tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history and culture of the valley, and shared loads of local insights and stories which made this one of the best tours we have ever experienced

My wife and I had a great time with this tour and it was super convenient being picked up for this tour. I can't say enough good things about our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to have many local connections in the area. He knew alot about more than just the Hawaii 5-0 show but alot of history around the island as well. My parents, my 8 yo son and I had a blast on the tour! Henry was an awesome guide; we got a kick out of watching him chase a group of wild pigs. :-D He did a great job pointing out photo opportunities, wild animals, and educating us on the history of Kohala.
