Isso Yukihiro

The first son of the late Masayuki Isso, he descends from a family of Noh flute players dating back to the Azuchimomoyama era. He first performed on stage at age 9, going on to perform pieces such as "Dojoji" and "Okina".
Besides his work as a Noh flute player, he is also active in performing and composing pieces that stretch the boundaries of his instrument. From classical music to jazz and improvisation, he explores unique sounds of musical fusion.
He has performed with symphony orchestras around the world, famous musicians such as Kaori Muraji and Cecil Taylor, as well as singers such as Ayako Fuji, Sayuri Ishikawa, and Demon Kogure.
